I’m taking the Yankees at home today against the Mariners. Yanks have the edge in starting pitching, bullpen, hitting, power, speed and bench. They are 25-16 at home over their last 41 and 8-3 in their last 11 home games against a lefty. Mariners are 0-6 in their last 6 against the Yankees. Tanaka’s been really sharp lately. Yankees should get this win.

Jays came through yesterday. Let’s keep it rolling today with the Pirates. “Lefty” Liriano takes the hill today and the Bucs are 3-0 in Liriano’s last 3 starts. Over that span his ERA is 1.80 with a WHIP of 1.10. In their last 17 Sunday games, the Pirates are 12-5. Cardinals don’t fare well against lefties. They are 2-6 in their last 8 against left-handed pitchers. As a side note, Knight is behind home plate. The Cardinals are 1-4 in their last 5 when he is umpire. He favors home teams 41-15.

He’s been sharp over his last 3 with a 1.23 ERA and a 0.91 WHIP. The bats have been silent for Toronto but Joey “Bats” Bautista and company should get it going today.
