Saturday MLB Pick

The New York Yankees will turn to the southpaw, C.C. Sabathia, to get them back on track today when they play an early one against the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field. The ex-Indian knows this park well and the 38 year old can still deliver. Sabathia is 3-2, with a 3.61 ERA, and a 1.25 WHIP. The Tribe will counter with Adam Plutko. This guy has tapped the rubber for just 11.1 innings and has a 6.35 ERA with a 1.32 WHIP, and the Bombers should be able to exploit that. The Yanks are 8-3 in their last 11 meetings with the Indians and 5-2 in Sabathia’s last 7 starts in Cleveland. Bombers get it done.

Fight of the Century?

What a farce! Last night’s bout looked more like a dance recital than a boxing match, with both fighters slacking off in the last two rounds then grinning at the end, thinking they each had won. Congratulations to Mayweather for putting the last nail in the coffin of boxing -it’s officially dead.

Fight Notes

According to my source in San Diego, Manny Pacquiao was at Scripps in Encinitas, California for orthoscopic surgery a couple of weeks ago.

Also, Floyd Mayweather reportedly has a clause in his contract guaranteeing a rematch if he loses to Pacquiao. Does he have doubts about winning?
