Wednesday Baseball Picks

Good day yesterday with Astros and Giants winning. Today I like 3 games and we will start north of the border. The Mets are 3-11 in their last 14 road games and Toronto is 11-2 in their last 13. Toronto has the edge in starting pitching, bullpen, hitting, power, speed, defense and bench. They like hitting lefties and Niese is a lefty.

I also like the Yankees at home. Pineda is 6-2 in his last 8 home starts. Yankees have the edge in starting pitching, bullpen, power and bench.

Lastly, I like San Fran over Seattle with 2 aces on the hill. Over Bumgarner’s last 3 games, he has an ERA of 3.63 and a WHIP of 1.07. King Felix has an ERA of 12 over the last 3 and an ERA of 1.92. He got lit up last time around. San Fran is 7-2 in their last 9 road games, while Seattle is 1-9 in their last 10 games as a favorite. Seattle is also 1-8 in their last 9 home games.

I hit the Royals and Astros yesterday, and I’m sticking with the Astros today. Altuve should be in the lineup. Astros are starting to heat up.

I’m also taking the Giants. San Fran has lost 8 straight home games, matching its longest losing streak since moving to the bay area in 1958. Look for Lincecum to stop the bleeding.

Tonight I like 3 games. First I’m taking Tanaka and the Yankees. In Tanaka’s last 3 starts, he has an ERA of 1.33 and a WIP of 0.64 and the Yanks have won all 3 games. Yanks are playing good ball with a 7-3 record over their last 10. The Marlins have Koehler pitching, with an ERA over his last three of 5.8 and a WHIP of 1.76. The Marlins are 0-9 in their last 9 Monday games and 2-6 in their last 8 inter-league games. The Marlins will also be playing without Prado tonight (shoulder injury).

Next, I’m going with the Astros at home tonight with Keuchel on the hill. The Astros are 13-5 in their last 18 at home and the Rockies are 12-30 in their last 42 in Houston.

Look for San Fran to end its 3 game skid today at home, with the young ace Heston on the mound. His last outing was a no-hitter and he’s been stellar this year. He’s commanding a 1.19 WHIP and 3.77 ERA. De La Rosa for Arizona has a 1.28 WHIP and 5.84 ERA. Arizona is 3-8 in their last 11 Sunday games. Giants have the edge in starting pitching, bullpen, hitting, power and bench. They should get the win today.
