The Toronto Blue Jays visit Kansas City tonight to take on the Royals for the first game of the ALCS. These teams do not like each other. In August the dugouts almost cleared when Volquez went head hunting for Donaldson. Volquez starts tonight for the Royals and they are 1-4 in his last 5 starts. The Royals are 2-5 in their last 7 against a right handed pitcher, and tonight they’ll face the righty Estrada. He is 4-1 in his last 5 road starts and the Jays are 13-3 over their last 16 games against American League Central teams. The Jays have the edge in starting pitching, bullpen, power, and bench. Tough call tonight as the New York Mets travel to Los Angeles to see who advances to the NLCS. Two stud pitchers are going at it tonight with Zack Greinke for the Dodgers and Jacob deGrom for the Mets. I’m siding with the home team in this one. Los Angeles is 20-4 in Greinke’s last 24 home games against a team with a winning record. The Dodgers are 8-2 in their last 10 Thursday games and 6-0 in Greinke’s last 6 Thursday starts. For the Mets, deGrom is 2-5 in his last 7 Thursday starts. The Dodgers have the edge in bullpen, hitting, speed, defense and bench. Good luck tonight!

The Texas Rangers visit Rogers Centre today to take on the Blue Jays for the deciding game of their 5 game series. The Rangers just needed 1 win at home to take the series from the Jays but they didn’t do it. The momentum has now switched to the Toronto Blue Jays. Cole Hammels is on the hill for the Rangers and as always, he has been on his mark. Stroman is pitching for Toronto and he has been equally as sharp, winning his last 4 and posting an ERA of 1.64 and a WHIP of 0.91 over his last 3 starts. Toronto is 4-1 in Stroman’s last 5 home starts and 14-6 in their last 20 meetings with the Rangers. The Jays have the edge in bullpen, hitting, power, defense, and bench. Scott’s behind the dish and the Rangers are 1-4 in their last 5 when he is umping. The boys to the North should get this one.

The Dodgers are 4-1 in their last 5 games against southpaws. Guccione’s behind home plate and Mets are 6-15 in the last 21 games he umped. Dodgers take it home for game 5.

The Dodgers travel to Queens tonight to take on the Mets and I’m siding with the home team in this one. Harvey gets the call for the Mets and he has been sharp, posting an ERA of 1.02 and a WHIP of 0.85 over his last 3 outings. The lefty Anderson gets the start for the Dodgers tonight and he has not been on his mark, posting an ERA of 7.16 and a WHIP of 1.59 over his last 3 games. Dodgers have not done well in road playoff games, going 0-6 over their last 6 games. Gibson is behind home plate and the Mets are 5-0 when he’s been umping.
