Just confirmed – Getzlaf is playing tonight.
Month: November 2015
Friday Hockey Pick
The Columbus Blue Jackets travel to Honda Center tonight to take on the Anaheim Ducks. The Blue Jackets are looking for a sweep of the Golden State after beating the Sharks and the Kings. Unfortunately, the host Ducks are going to have something to say about that. It looks as if the Ducks have straightened things out with back-to-back wins, beating Nashville and Florida. Corey Perry finally got the monkey off his back, netting his first goal of the season Wednesday, tying the game with 6 seconds left in the third to send it to overtime. Anaheim’s super star Ryan Getzlaf has been sidelined with appendicitis but had a great skate on Wednesday and I bet he’ll play tonight. Another indicator Getzy is probably playing is the line opened today at -160 and has already climbed to -180. The Ducks are 4-0 in their last 4 against the Eastern Conference and have the edge in defense, penalty killing, face offs, discipline and goal tending.
Tonight’s pick:

Thursday Hockey Pick
The Columbus Blue Jackets continue their West Coast tour as they visit Staples Center tonight to take on the red hot Los Angeles Kings. The Kings are 8-1 in their last 9 games and are 4-0 in their last 4 home games. Jonathan Quick is between the posts for LA and as always he’s been outstanding with a 2.28 GAA. The Blue Jackets have played well against the Pacific division, posting a 6-0 record over their last 6 games, however, they have not fared well in LA, going 0-5 in their last 5 at Staples Center and 1-6 in their last 7 against the Kings. Sergei Bobrovski is in the net for Columbus and he has struggled, with a 3-8 record and a 3.77 GAA. The Kings have the edge in offense, defense, penalty killing, face offs, and goal tending. Kings tonight.
Tonight’s hockey pick:
Los Angeles Kings
Wednesday Hockey Pick
The Florida Panthers travel to the Honda Center tonight to take on the Anaheim Ducks. The Ducks are struggling this year but there is too much talent on this team for that to continue. After scoring only 10 goals in 10 games, Anaheim netted 4 in a win against Nashville on Sunday. The Ducks’ star Corey Perry has yet to find the net this year but that could change tonight. In his career he has faced Florida 10 times, scoring 5 goals and notching 5 assists. The Ducks could be turning the corner.
Tonight’s hockey pick:
Anaheim Ducks
Tuesday Hockey Pick
The 2-10 Columbus Blue Jackets travel to the SAP Center tonight to take on the San Jose Sharks. The Blue Jackets have not done well in San Jose, posting a 5-20 record over their last 25 games. The home teams are 25-11 between these 2 clubs. Jones is between the pipes for the Sharks and has been solid, going 6-3 over his last 9 and posting a 1.88 GAA. Bobrovsky gets the call for the Jackets and he has been dismal, with a 2-8 record over his last 10 and a 3.97 GAA. San Jose has the edge in offense, defense, penalty killing, face offs, discipline and goal tending. Sharks in this one…
Tonight’s pick:

Monday Hockey Pick
The struggling Philadelphia Flyers travel to Rogers Arena tonight to take on the Vancouver Canucks. The Flyers have lost 3 straight games and 2 of them were to the Buffalo Sabres. Philadelphia doesn’t fare well against Western Conference teams, going 2-7 in their last 9 and they’re 0-5 in their last 5 against the Pacific Division. Vancouver has the edge in offense, defense, power plays, penalty killing, face offs, discipline and goal tending.

The San Jose Sharks travel today to Colorado to take on the Avalanche. Over the last 20 meetings between these 2 clubs, the Sharks are 15-5. San Jose has the edge in offense, defense, penalty killing, face offs, discipline and goal tending. The Sharks should get this one.
