Thursday NHL Pick

The Washington Capitals will be at full strength tonight when they host the New York Islanders. Alex Ovechkin returns tonight after serving his one game suspension for snubbing the all star game and Braden Holtby is expected between the pipes after having a day off on Tuesday. The Capitals are on a rare 2-game skid and the Islanders should be the cure for this. The Capitals are 6-3-1 in their last 10 versus New York, and the Islanders are just 1-5 in their last 6 at Verizon Center. Alex Ovechkin has faced the Islanders 38 times in his career and he has been spectacular, scoring 27 goals with 15 assists. Ovechkin should be hungry tonight. I like the Caps in this one.

Tonight’s pick:

Washington Capitals

Wednesday Men’s NCAA Basketball Pick

The Nebraska Omaha Mavericks take on their Summit rival, the Western Illinois Leathernecks tonight in Macomb, Illinois. The Mavericks are 3rd in the Summit with a 15-8 record. Omaha can put up points. They are ranked 40th in field goal percentage and are averaging 86.5 on the road. The 7-13 Leathernecks have struggled to cover at home, going 0-5 ATS in the last 5 and are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 versus Summit foes. The Mavericks are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games. Couple this with the Leathernecks averaging only 66.2 points per game at home, Mavericks should cover the 4.5.

Today’s pick:

Nebraska Omaha Mavericks -4.5

Tuesday Men’s NCAA Basketball Pick

The Providence Friars take their perfect 6-0 road record to Rosemont IL to take on the DePaul Blue Demons. In the last 3 meetings between these two teams, Providence has won by an average of 20.3 points per game. DePaul is just 3-11 in their last 14 ATS at home and Providence comes into this with a 20-7 ATS over their last 27 road games. The Friars should cover the 8 points.

Today’s pick:

Providence Friars -8

Monday Men’s NCAA Basketball Pick

The Oakland Golden Grizzlies won for us on Friday so I’m sticking with them tonight when they travel to Kentucky to take on the Northern Kentucky Norse. The Golden Grizzlies are averaging 86.1 points on the road and are 7-0 ATS in the last 7 road games against a team with a winning record. The Norse are averaging only 67.4 points per game at home and are just 2-8 ATS in their last 10 home games. Oakland should have a lot of incentive to get this one after getting mauled by Northern Kentucky 90-73 on January 19th.

Tonight’s pick:

Oakland Golden Grizzlies -5.5
