The New York Yankee will try to end their 4-game skid when they send the veteran southpaw CC Sabathia to the hill tonight in Minnesota. CC has learned to pitch again and he has been dominant. Sabathia is 4-4 on the season with an ERA of 2.28 and a WHIP of 1.21. In CC’s last 6 starts he has been hurling, posting a stingy ERA of just 0.71. The Bombers are 6-0 in CC’s last 6 starts in Minnesota and they are 41-16 in their last 57 meetings in the Twin Cities. Kyle Gibson is expected to pitch tonight for the Twins and he is 0-4 on the season with an ERA of 6.49 and a WHIP of 1.67. Gibson was lit up in his last outing, giving up 5 runs on 7 hits over 5-2/3 innings, in a 15-4 loss to Boston. Greinke has been throwing flames, yielding no runs in his last 16 innings of work. The D-Backs’ Paul Goldschmidt has been on a tear as well, going 12-27 in his 7 game hitting streak.
