Friday NBA Pick

The Los Angeles Lakers are on an 8-game losing streak and if it’s going to end, it should be tonight when they travel to Philadelphia to take on the 76ers. The Lakers are having an awful season, with a record of 10-18, but Philadelphia is even more pathetic, with a record of 6-19. Los Angeles is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 in Philadelphia. The Lakers have an edge in points per game, field goals, free throws, rebounding, turnovers and bench. This line opened at Philadelphia -1.5, M/L -125, and now has shifted to the Lakers -2, M/L -130, and we know what that means. I’ll take the Lakers here, M/L -130, and not sweat the 2.

Tonight’s pick:

Los Angeles Lakers -130

Thursday NHL Pick

The St. Louis Blues will be glad to return home to Scottrade Center tonight to face the New Jersey Devils, after a dismal 4-game road trip, where they were just 1-3. The Blues have been tough to beat at home this year, owning a 12-1-2-1 record and are 5-2 in their last 7 against the Eastern Conference. The Devils have struggled on the road. They are 4-9-3-1 and are 0-6 in the last 6 meetings with St. Louis and 0-4 in their last 4 at Scottrade Center. Jake Allen is expected between the pipes for the Blues and he is 14-6-3 on the season, with a 2.52 GAA. The Devils expect to have Cory Schneider in the crease tonight and he has a record of 9-8-4, with a 2.83 GAA. The Blues should get back on track tonight.

Tonight’s pick:

St. Louis Blues

Wednesday NHL Pick

The San Jose Sharks are winners of their last two and will be playing back-to-back games after knocking off Toronto 3-2 in a shoot out last night. The Sharks will stay north of the border tonight to face the Ottawa Senators. San Jose has struggled against Ottawa, losing the last 5 contests and were beaten by the Sens at home on December 7th, 4-2. Fatigue could be a factor for San Jose tonight. I like the Senators chances in this one.

Tonight’s pick:

Ottawa Senators

Tuesday NCAA Men’s Basketball Pick

Two Eagle teams will clash today when the Morehead State Eagles travel to Cheney, Washington to take on the Eastern Washington Eagles. Eastern Washington is a perfect 6-0 at home, averaging 85.5 points per game in Cheney and holding teams to an average of 80.8. On the flip side, Morehead State is just the opposite on the road, going 0-5, averaging 67.2 points per game and holding teams to an average of 83.6. Morehead State is 0-6-2 ATS in their last 8 games overall. I’m laying the 3 here and siding with Eastern Washington.

Tonight’s pick:

Eastern Washington Eagles -3

Monday NCAA Men’s Basketball Pick

The University of Central Florida Knights, who are 7-1 on the season and a perfect 4-0 at home, will host the 3-5 Pennsylvania Quakers tonight down in Orlando. The Knights average 76.0 points per game at home and are a defensive powerhouse, allowing an average of just 52.5 points, and are anchored by a 7’6″ giant Center by the name of Tacko Fall. The Quakers are 2-3 on the road, averaging 69.2 points away from home and allowing 65.8. The line is Central Florida -9. If they want to cover the number, they have the ability to do so.

Tonight’s pick:

UCF Knights -9

Sunday NHL Pick

The Anaheim Ducks are starting to heat up and I see them putting another notch in their belt when they take on the Ottawa Senators in an early one at the Honda Center today. The Senators are expected to have Andrew Hammond between the pipes today and if they go with him instead of Condon, he is 0-1-0, with a bloated 4.50 GAA and a .793 SV%. The Ducks are expected to have John Gibson in the net. Gibson is 9-7-4, with a 2.58 GAA and a .911 SV%. The Senators are 3-10 in their last 13 meetings with the Ducks and are just 2-7 in their last 9 at Honda Center. I like the Ducks chances in this one.

Today’s pick:

Anaheim Ducks

Saturday Men’s NCAA Football Pick

The Army Navy Classic should be an interesting game today. The line is starting to plummet. This game opened at Navy -7 and has dropped to Navy -5. The reason for this is that the Midshipmen will be without two key players, QB Will Worth and RB Toneo Gulley. This should favor the Black Knights, who are ranked #5 in the nation in total defense. I like the Boys from the Hudson today to cover.

Today’s pick:

Army Black Knights +5
