The next blog will be posted tomorrow. Good luck with your pick.
Month: February 2018
Tuesday NHL Pick
The Winnipeg Jets are firing on all cylinders and will seek their fourth straight win tonight when they host the Los Angeles Kings at Bell MTS Place. This will not be an easy one for the Jets. The Kings have been respectable on the road, with a record of 18-13-2, but have struggled in Winnipeg, notching just 2 wins in their last 10 trips there. The Jets rarely lose at home, with a record of 23-5-2, and the home team is 15-6 in the last 21 meetings between these two clubs. Winnipeg keeps it rolling.
TONIGHT’S PICK: WINNIPEG JETS
Monday NHL Pick
The expansion Vegas Golden Knights can now say they are the best team in hockey, with 82 points. Tonight they will play host to the Anaheim Ducks, a team they have beaten 3 times this year. This is the last regular season meeting between these two clubs. Anaheim should be in overdrive tonight. They don’t want to be swept by an expansion team, they need points, and they know it if they want to play in the postseason. The Ducks are playing good hockey, winning 2 in a row, and are 4-1 in their last 5 games against the Western conference.
TONIGHT’S PICK: ANAHEIM DUCKS
Sunday Men’s NCAA Basketball Pick
It will be an early tipoff today in The Bronx, when the Manhattan Jaspers host the surging Niagara Purple Eagles. The Jaspers are ranked 5th in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and have a home record of 6-3, but are a mediocre 7-8 in conference play. Niagara, who has won 4 in a row, are ranked 3rd in the Metro with a road record of 8-4, and has been dominating in conference play at 11-4. Niagara has been a covering machine, going 4-0 ATS in their last 4 overall, and 9-2 ATS in their last 11 road games. The Purple Eagles have covered 17 of the last 23 meetings with the Jaspers and 9 of their last 12 in Manhattan. Niagara won the first meeting this year on January 24th, 72-63, and today should be no different.
TODAY’S PICK: NIAGARA PURPLE EAGLES +2.5
Saturday Men’s NCAA Basketball Pick
The Jacksonville State Gamecocks will take it on the arches today to Tennessee to face the Austin Peay Governors. The Govs will have a formidable foe today in the Gamecocks. Jacksonville is 9-6 in conference play and 6-6 on the road. Away from home, they are averaging 68.7 points per game, and allowing an average of 65.8, but the edge will go to Austin Peay in this one. The Governors are 11-3 at home and 10-5 in conference play. At home they are averaging 76.9 points per game and allowing an average of 69.4. The Governors walked into Jacksonville on January 13th and took care of business winning easily, 87-67.
TODAY’S PICK: AUSTIN PEAY GOVERNORS -1
Friday Men’s NCAA Basketball Pick
The Canisius Golden Griffins will be seeking their sixth straight win tonight when they travel to West Long Branch, New Jersey, to take on the Monmouth-NJ Hawks. The Golden Griffins have been dominant in conference play, with a record of 12-2. They have also been covering the number, going 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 overall, and doing the same against their Metro Atlantic Athletic foes at 10-4-1 ATS in the last 15. The Hawks are 5-5 at home, are just 5-9 in conference play, and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a straight up winning record. Canisius handled Monmouth-NJ easily at home on January 14th, winning 94-79, and should do the same tonight. The line right now is Canisius -2.5 and will probably move, so consider the boys from Buffalo on the money line in this one.
TONIGHT’S PICK: CANISIUS GOLDEN GRIFFINS M/L
Thursday NHL Pick
The best team in hockey, the Tampa Bay Lightning, will return home tonight from a short road trip, where they lost to the Toronto Maple Leafs and the lowly Buffalo Sabres. I like their chances to get back on track tonight because they will be hosting the Detroit Red Wings. Tampa Bay has only lost 5 games this year at Amalie Arena and have had the Red Wings number. They have won 10 straight against them, 25 of the last 33, and 16 of the last 21 at home. The Lightning fans will not be disappointed.
TONIGHT’S PICK: TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING
