The next blog will be posted on Monday. Good luck with your picks!
Month: November 2019
Saturday NHL Pick
The Chicago Blackhawks and the Colorado Avalanche met in a matinee yesterday in Chicago with the Avs prevailing, 5-2. Tonight the two clubs will clash again but the venue will switch to the Avs home ice, Pepsi Center. Colorado has been a force at home with a record of 7-3-1 and are expected to see the return of one of their top offensive weapons, Mikko Rantanen, who has been out with a lower body injury. The Avs have had the Blackhawks number, going 6-1-3 in the last 10 meetings, and Chicago is just 3-4-3 on the road. The side to play here is Colorado.
TONIGHT’S PICK: COLORADO AVALANCHE
Friday NHL Pick
It should be an easy day at the office today for the Philadelphia Flyers because they will be hosting the worst team in hockey, the Detroit Red Wings. After Wednesday’s 6-0 thumping at home by the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Red Wings have now lost 7 straight. The Broad Street Bullies are riding a 2-game winning streak. They are 7-1-4 at Wells Fargo Center and 7-1-2 in their last 10 against the Red Wings. Good luck, Detroit.
TODAY’S PICK: PHILADELPHIA FLYERS
Thursday NFL Pick
The Chicago Bears and the Detroit Lions will meet today in the early one at Ford Field. Detroit is a mess, losing 4 in a row, and without Matthew Stafford their chances of pulling out a victory today are slim at best. Chicago has won 2 of their last 3 games and do have a glimmer of hope to make the post-season. The Bears knocked off the Lions on November 10th, 20-13, and with an improving Mitchell Trubisky they should be able to exploit the League’s 3rd worst pass defense.
TODAY’S PICK: CHICAGO BEARS M/L
Wednesday Men’s NCAA Basketball Pick
The Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons should breeze to an easy victory tonight when they host the Niagara Purple Eagles. The Purple Eagles squad is simply not very good this year. They are off to an 0-4 start and 3 of those losses have come on the road where they have averaged 61.0 points per game and allowed an average of 82.3. The Mastodons are 3-1 in Fort Wayne and this team can score. At home they are averaging 79.5 points per game, allowing 69.5, and will have the edge in points per game, field goal %, free throw %, defense, rebounding, and bench. Lay the 9 and take the Mastodons.
TONIGHT’S PICK: PURDUE FORT WAYNE MASTODONS -9
Tuesday NBA Pick
Two teams that have won 5 in a row, the LA Clippers and the Dallas Mavericks, will meet tonight in Dallas and that will be the difference maker. The star studded Clippers are just 1-4 on the road, where they are averaging 115.8 points per game, allowing 119.2, and are winless in their last 4 trips to the Big D. The Mavs’ Luka Dončić has been tearing it up. This guy has scored 30+ points 9 times this season, has 7 triple doubles and in his last outing on Sunday against the Rockets he ripped off 41. The Mavericks are tough at American Airlines Center, where they are 6-3, averaging 117.6 points per game, allowing 106.6 and they will be getting 2 points.
TONIGHT’S PICK: DALLAS MAVERICKS +2
Monday NHL Pick
The Buffalo Sabres snapped a 3-game skid yesterday, with a 5-2 victory over the Florida Panthers, but I wouldn’t get too excited. The Sabres are just 2-8 in their last 10 games and will be playing back-to-back games tonight when they make the short trip from Sunrise, Florida to Tampa for a matchup with the Lightning. Tampa is starting to click, winning 2 straight and 5 of their last 7. The Bolts have owned Buffalo, winning 5 straight against the Western New Yorkers, including a pair in early November in Sweden. The Lightning’s captain, Steven Stamkos, is not expected to return to the ice tonight but, with or without him, Tampa gets it done.
TONIGHT’S PICK: TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING
