Friday MLB Pick

After falling to the Chicago White Sox last night, 5-1, the Baltimore Orioles have now lost 10 in a row. Tonight they will play the second game of their 4-game set with Chicago and their prospects of snapping their skid do not look good. Matt Harvey is expected to get the nod for Baltimore and he is a far cry from the days when he was the ace for the Mets. Harvey is 0-3 in his last 3 turns and his ERA is a staggering 15.19 during that span. The White Sox are expected to counter with lefty Dallas Keuchel, who is 3-1 on the season with a 4.28 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP. The Orioles are just 2-5 in their last 7 trips to Chicago and 0-4 in their last 4 against a left-handed starter.

Thursday MLB Pick

Refer to yesterday’s blog for game 1 of today’s doubleheader between the Toronto Blue Jays and the New York Yankees.
TODAY’S PICK: NEW YORK YANKEES – GAME 1

Wednesday MLB Pick

The Toronto Blue Jays got the better of the New York Yankees yesterday but I don’t see that happening tonight. The Blue Jays are expected to send their top AAA prospect to the hill, Alek Manoah. One thing you don’t do is debut a kid against the Yankees in the Bronx. Talk about intimidation. The Bombers are expected to counter with Domingo Germán and he has been throwing flames. Over his last 3 turns, he is 2-0 with an ERA of 1.40 and a 0.93 WHIP.

Tuesday MLB Pick

Can the Tampa Bay Rays make it 12 wins in a row? Yes. They are at home tonight and playing the Kansas City Royals. Kansas City is 4-14 in their last 18 against Tampa and 1-6 in their last 7 at the Trop. Lefty Rich Hill is expected to tap the rubber for the Rays and he has been on his mark. Hill is 2-0 in his last 3 turns with a nasty ERA of 0.48 and a 0.86 WHIP. It’s hard to top that.
TONIGHT’S PICK: TAMPA BAY RAYS

Monday MLB Pick

The Chicago White Sox will be glad to get back to the south side after getting swept in the Bronx by the New York Yankees. Tonight they will host the St. Louis Cardinals and are due for a win. Chicago is 14-8 at home and will have Lance Lynn on the hill. Lynn is 4-1 with a 1.55 ERA and a 0.98 WHIP. Not bad. The Cardinals are expected to send lefty Kwang-hyun Kim to the bump. Kim is 1-1 with a 2.73 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP but that is in just 26.1 innings of work. The White Sox are 8-2 in their last 10 home games against southpaws and will notch another one tonight.
