The Toronto Blue Jays have fared well against the Baltimore Orioles, winning 36 of the last 53 meetings overall, and despite last night’s loss to the O’s, the Jays are 8-2 in their last 10 at Camden Yards. Matt Harvey, the expected starter for the Orioles, has not performed well this year, at 3-9 with a 7.34 ERA, and is 0-1 in 2021 against the Blue Jays, with a 6.30 ERA. On the flip side, the Jays expected starter, Hyun-jin Ryu, has. He is 7-5 with a 3.65 ERA and is 2-0 this year against the Orioles, with a 3.69 ERA. Toronto has lost their last two but get back on track tonight in Baltimore.
TONIGHT’S PICK: TORONTO BLUE JAYS

The Houston Astros are coming off an impressive 4-game sweep of the Cleveland Indians in Cleveland and will return home tonight to Minute Maid Park to face their AL West foe, the Oakland Athletics. Two flamethrowers are expected to oppose each other tonight with Chris Bassitt getting the nod for Oakland and Framber Valdez for Houston. Bassitt is an impressive 9-2 with a 3.04 ERA but the lefty Valdez is a little bit better, at 5-1 with an ERA of only 2.18. The Astros get it done at home, with a mark of 26-16, and have won 7 of the 10 meetings with the Athletics this year, including the last two in Oakland.
TONIGHT’S PICK: HOUSTON ASTROS

The Pittsburgh Pirates finally got back in the win column with a 2-0 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers yesterday, after losing 6 straight and scoring just 8 runs during that span. Tonight they will host the Atlanta Braves, who have won 3 of their last 4, and have been lighting up the scoreboard. Max Fried is expected to take the hill for Atlanta and after a slow start he has turned it around. He is 2-1 over his last 3 turns with a 3.00 ERA and a 0.89 WHIP. Chase De Jong is the expected starter for the Bucs and he has been really bad, to say the least. He is 0-3 with a 6.59 ERA and a 1.76 WHIP. Atlanta has won 7 of the last 8 meetings with Pittsburgh and should notch another one tonight
TONIGHT’S PICK: ATLANTA BRAVES

The San Francisco Giants will wrap up their 4-game set with the Arizona Diamonbacks tonight at Chase Field. After dropping the first game to Arizona, San Francisco has now won two straight and after tonight, it should be three. Anthony DeSclafani is expected to get the nod for the Giants and he is having a tremendous year, with a record of 8-3, a 2.91 ERA and a 1.01 WHIP. The bottom-dwelling D-backs are expected to send Caleb Smith to the hill and he is 2-4 with a 3.08 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP. The Giants have the LA Dodgers breathing down their neck for the top spot in the NL West and they cannot afford to lose to a team such as the Arizona Diamondbacks, and they know it.
TONIGHT’S PICK: SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS

The San Diego Padres lost a close one last night to the Philadelphia Phillies, 4-3, in extras but today should be a different outcome. Yu Darvish is expected to toe the rubber for the Padres and he has been on his mark. He is 7-2, with a 2.44 ERA and a 0.94 WHIP. The Phillies are expected to put Zack Eflin on the hill and he has struggled this year, at 2-6 with a 4.20 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP. The San Diego Padres are one of the most talented teams in baseball and after losing two in a row, they are due.
TODAY’S PICK: SAN DIEGO PADRES

The Los Angeles Angels return home tonight to Anaheim to take on the Baltimore Orioles. The Orioles are just 15-28 on the road and are expected to send Keegan Akin to the hill. This guy is a Triple-A pitcher, at best, with a record of 0-4, a bloated ERA of 7.11 and a 1.61 WHIP. Ohtani and company should light him up.
TONIGHT’S PICK: LOS ANGELES ANGELS

The Arizona Diamondbacks are good at one thing and one thing only – losing baseball games. Tonight they will host the NL West leading San Francisco Giants and San Fran will have Johnny Cueto on the hill. Good luck.
