The Buffalo Bills are the best team in football and will be laying a lot of lumber today when they host the Pittsburgh Steelers but that’s okay. They have the best quarterback in the business, Josh Allen. Allen has already thrown for 1,227 yards with 10 touchdowns. On the flip side, the Steelers are expected to have Kenny Pickett at the helm and he has thrown for 120 yards and no touchdowns. Lay the 14 and take the Bills.

The New York Mets are on the brink of being eliminated from the playoffs after yesterday’s 7-1 beating by the San Diego Padres but they have something up their sleeve and that is Jacob deGrom. Arguably the best pitcher in the business, deGrom is 5-4 with a 3.08 ERA and a nasty WHIP of only 0.75. The Friars will counter with southpaw Blake Snell. He is 8-10 with a 3.38 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP. Snell is not the threat he was when he was chucking for the Rays. New York is 11-0 in deGrom’s last 11 starts against the NL West and 6-0 in his last 6 home starts against a team with a winning record.

The Toronto Blue Jays will host the Seattle Mariners today in Game 1 of the AL Wild Card Series at Rogers Centre. Today’s expected starters are Alek Manoah for the Jays and Luis Castillo for the Mariners, and both guys can deal. Castillo is 8-6 with a 2.99 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP. Manoah is just a little bit better. The hard throwing righty is 16-7 with a 2.24 ERA and a WHIP of only 0.99. Toronto is 9-1 in his last 10 starts in game 1 of a series and have the edge in runs scored, batting average, OPS, and home runs. Consider the Jays.

It’s been a long time but the Seattle Mariners will finally see post-season play but have one more regular season game today against the Detroit Tigers at T-Mobile Park. Two lefties are expected to get the nod, with Tyler Alexander for the Tigers and Marco Gonzales for the Mariners. Alexander is 4-11 with an ERA of 4.72 and Gonzales is 10-15 with a 4.14 ERA. Seattle will want to go into their series with the Toronto Blue Jays on a winning note, so this game matters. The Mariners are 6-0 in their last 6 home games against a left-handed starter and 5-1 in their last 6 meetings with Detroit.
