Tuesday NHL Pick

The Tampa Bay Lightning should have the rust and too much South Beach out of their system after last night’s thumping by the Florida Panthers. Tonight they head home to the friendly confines of Amalie Arena to host the San Jose Sharks. Tampa’s home record speaks for itself, at 20-4-1, and a win tonight will make their 13th straight home victory. The Sharks are better on the road than they are at the Shark Tank, at 10-13-4, but have struggled against the Bolts, going 0-6 in the last 6 meetings overall and 0-4 in their last 4 in Tampa. The Sharks have not played since before the break and are 1-7 in their last 8 with 3 or more days’ rest.
TONIGHT’S PICK: TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING

Monday NHL Pick

Going into the All-Star break, the Tampa Bay Lightning were clicking on every cylinder. Tonight they will be playing their cross-state rival, the Florida Panthers, in Sunrise. The Lightning have owned the Panthers, winning the last 7 meetings, and are 4-0 in their last 4 trips to FLA Live Arena. Barring any post-break hangover, Tampa Bay should get this one.
TONIGHT’S PICK: TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING

Sunday Men’s NCAA Basketball Pick

The Fordham Rams are smoking hot, winners of their last 5 games, and they will go for 6 today when they head to Richmond for a 12 o’clock tip-off with the Spiders. The Boys from the Bronx are #3 in the A-10, 6-3 in conference play, and 4-2 on the road. The Spiders have slipped to the #10 spot in the A-10. They are 4-6 in conference play and 9-3 at Robins Center. Richmond has lost 4 straight however they have had Fordham’s number winning the last 4 meetings and are due, but will they cover the number? The Spiders are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games overall and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games. On the flip side, the Rams are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 overall, 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games against a team with a home winning record, and the road team is 8-2-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings.
TODAY’S PICK: FORDHAM RAMS +4½

Saturday Men’s NCAA Basketball Pick

To say the Sacred Heart Pioneers have owned the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils would be an understatement and that is who they will be hosting today in a matinée in Fairfield, Connecticut. The Pioneers have won 13 straight against the Blue Devils and haven’t loss to them since way back in 2015. The Pioneers are #6 in the Northeast Conference at 12-13, 6-4 at home, and 5-5 in conference play. The Blue Devils are #8 in the Northeast, 6-18 on the year, 2-11 on the road, and 4-6 in conference play. At home, Sacred Heart is averaging 72.2 points per game and allowing 68.7. On the road, Central Connecticut is averaging 63.2 points per game and allowing an average of 72.8. The Pioneers are currently laying 3.5 but don’t get burned by the hook and consider Sacred Heart on the money line.
TODAY’S PICK: SACRED HEART PIONEERS M/L

Friday Men’s NCAA Basketball Pick

There in no better rivalry in college basketball than the Yale Bulldogs and Harvard Crimson. Tonight they will square off on Harvard’s home court, Lavietes Pavilion. Yale is #3 in the Ivy League and 4-3 in conference play. Harvard sits in the #5 spot, with a conference record of 3-4. These two teams always go toe-to-toe and tonight should be no different. The Bulldogs have won the last three meetings by a combined score of only 178-168, so this is a money line bet for sure. Yale is on a roll, winners of their last three games, and they have the edge in points per game, points allowed, field goal %, 3-pointers, free throws, rebounds and blocks.
TONIGHT’S PICK: YALE BULLDOGS M/L

Thursday Men’s NCAA Basketball Pick

The Elon Phoenix will travel to Long Island tonight for a matchup with their Colonial Athletic Association rival, the Stony Brook Seawolves. Elon is so bad a good high school team could take them down. The Phoenix are 3-19 overall, 1-8 in conference play, and winless on the road, at 0-10. The Seawolves are not making any waves in the Colonial Athletic but they should take care of business at home tonight. Stony Brook is 8-14, 5-4 on Long Island, and 4-5 in conference play. Depending on where you shop, the line is around 3 and the Seawolves have been covering. They are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 overall and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games against a team with a losing record. Will they cover the number? Probably, but the money line is only -155 so why sweat the points?
TONIGHT’S PICK: STONY BROOK SEAWOLVES M/L

Wednesday NHL Pick

There are only two games scheduled tonight before the All-Star break and the one that looks interesting is the Buffalo Sabres hosting the Carolina Hurricanes. The Canes are hot, riding a 6-game winning streak, but so are the Sabres. Buffalo has won 5 of their last 6 and will be well-rested, having not played since Saturday. On the other hand, Carolina will be playing back-to-back games after a tough battle with the Kings last night. The Sabres can score. They are averaging 3.8 goals per game, which is #1 in the league, and will be a home dog tonight. Consider the Western New Yorkers.
TONIGHT’S PICK: BUFFALO SABRES
