Friday MLB Pick

The 34-40 Pittsburgh Pirates lost again last night, falling to the 43-33 Miami Marlins 6-4, making it 10 losses in a row. The Bucs will try to pick up the pieces when the two clubs play the second game of their 4-game set tonight at LoanDepot Park. Pittsburgh is expected to send Luis Ortiz to the rubber and he is not the answer. Ortiz is 1-3 with a 4.30 ERA, a 1.73 WHIP, and over his last 3 turns he is 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA. Miami is expected to counter with southpaw Jesús Lazardo. He is 6-5 with a 4.09 ERA, a 1.24 WHIP, and over his last 3 starts he is 2-1 with a 4.24 ERA. The Marlins have been really tough at home, with a record of 23-15. On the flip side, the Pirates are 16-21 away from PNC and are 0-5 in their last 5 against a left-handed starter. We know the Bucs are going to win eventually but go against them until they do.
