The New York Mets were blanked 8-0 last night by the Los Angeles Dodgers at Citi Field and now find themselves down 2-1 in the NLCS. They cannot afford to lose tonight in front of their home crowd and go down 3-1 to the Dodgers or they are in trouble. Tonight’s expected starter for the Mets is lefty José Quintana. In the postseason Quintana has been in the zone, posting a 0.00 ERA with a 0.83 WHIP over 11 innings of work. The Dodgers are expected to send Yoshinobu Yamamoto to the hill. Yamamoto is 1-0 in the postseason but has an elevated 5.63 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP over just 8 innings of work. New York has been one of the hottest teams since the All-Star break and coming from behind is never an issue for them. The Mets desperately need this one tonight and they know it. Expect them to come out swinging.
TONIGHT’S PICK: NEW YORK METS

The Detroit Tigers and the Cleveland Guardians will wrap up their ALDS today in an early one at Progressive Field. The Tigers were the best team in the majors since the All-Star break and will have the best hurler in baseball, Tarik Skubal, on the hill. Skubal last faced the Guardians in game 2 and was lights out, yielding only 3 hits, no runs, and the Tigers went on to a 3-0 win. Detroit is the side to consider.
TODAY’S PICK: DETROIT TIGERS

All the cards are on the table tonight when the San Diego Padres and the Los Angeles Dodgers wrap up the NLDS at Dodger Stadium. The Padres will have Yu Darvish tapping the rubber. In game 2 at Dodger Stadium, Darvish was lights out and he dazzled the boys in blue. Darvish pitched 7 strong innings, yielding just 3 hits, 1 run, and the Friars went on to a 10-2 blowout win.

The New York Yankees will look to close out the NLDS tonight against the Kansas City Royals. The Yankees ace, Gerrit Cole, will be on the hill for the Bombers. Cole is 4-1 in his career against the Royals with an ERA of 2.77 and Aaron Judge is due. Enough said.

The New York Yankees are expected to have Clarke Schmidt on the hill tonight when they face the Kansas City Royals. Schmidt will deliver and so will the Yankees’ bats.

The San Diego Padres will have momentum on their side when they host the Los Angeles Dodgers in game 3 of their best of 5 in the NLDS. The Padres are a very dangerous and underrated team, coming off of a 10-2 blowout of their archenemy Dodgers and they are not done yet. San Diego will have Michael King tapping the rubber tonight and he has been lights out. In his last turn against the Atlanta Braves, King pitched 7 strong, yielding 5 hits, no runs with 12 punches and the Padres went on to a 4-0 win. LA is expected to have Walker Buehler on the hill. Buehler has not been the same since he had Tommy John surgery. Machado and company will light him up.
