Saturday NCAA Football Pick

The 25th ranked Army Black Knights will take swagger and a perfect 8-0 record into Denton, Texas today for a matchup with the North Texas Mean Green. Dating back to last year, the Black Knights have actually won 12 straight and have not trailed in any one of those games. The reason for their success has been their lethal running attack. Army is averaging over 340 yards per game on the ground and has a defense that is allowing a really stingy 11.25 yards per game. The 5-3 Mean Green have lost 2 straight and even though they can throw the ball the Black Knights defense will hold their ground. Depending on where you do you shopping, the line is currently around Army -3 with a money line of -150. Don’t sweat the points. Consider the Black Knights on the money line.
TODAY’S PICK: ARMY BLACK KNIGHTS M/L

Friday NHL Pick

The Washington Capitals are on a roll and so is their captain, Alex Ovechkin. The Caps are 9-3-0 overall, 7-1-0 at Capital One Arena, and Ovi has 6 tallies in the last 5 games. Tonight they will host the Pittsburgh Penguins, who are doing just the opposite. The 5-8-2 Penguins have lost 2 straight and 8 of their last 10. Washington is averaging 4.08 goals per game as opposed to Pittsburgh’s pitiful 2.8. The Caps are also allowing just 2.92 goals per game as opposed to the Penguin’s 3.8. The side to consider here is easy.
TONIGHT’S PICK: WASHINGTON CAPITALS

Thursday NHL Pick

The league’s best, Winnipeg Jets, are showing no signs of slowing down. With Tuesday’s 3-0 shutout at home over the Utah Hockey Club, the Jets are now 12-1-0 and will be hosting the struggling 6-7-0 Colorado Avalanche tonight at Canada Life Centre. The Avs are just 1-3 over their last 4 and are expected to have Alexandar Georgiev between the pipes. The Jets should have no problem finding the 5th hole against this guy. Georgiev is 1-4-0 with a 4.62 GAA and the Avs could also be without one of their top producers, Cale Makar. Winnipeg’s hot, ride them until they are not.
TONIGHT’S PICK: WINNIPEG JETS

Wednesday NHL Pick

The 8-3-0 Washington Capitals will go for their 7th straight win at Capital One Arena tonight when they host the 4-7-1 Nashville Predators. Over their last 3 in DC, the Caps have 18 tallies and are averaging 4.18 goals per game overall. Also, their captain Alex Ovechkin has been on fire, finding the back of the net 5 times in the last 4 games. The Preds went out and got some high-profile players like Steven Stamkos but obviously it hasn’t worked and they are averaging a dismal 2.42 goals per game. The Predators have won the last 3 meetings with the Capitals but that was last year, and this is now. The line seems fishy, with Washington favored at only -125, but they are the better team and worth considering.
TONIGHT’S PICK: WASHINGTON CAPITALS

Tuesday NHL Pick

The Winnepeg Jets, who own the best record in hockey at 11-1-0, will be at home tonight when they host the struggling Utah Hockey Club. The Club has lost 5 of its last 6 and now has to face the Jets, whose only loss was against a really good Toronto Maple Leafs team. Good luck. Winnipeg has been a scoring machine, averaging just shy of 5 goals per game as opposed to Utah’s 3.08. The Jets also have the edge in goals against, shots on goal, etc., etc., etc.
TONIGHT’S PICK: WINNIPEG JETS

Monday NFL Pick

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be a big dog tonight when they travel to Kansas City to face the Chiefs. The Chiefs are currently laying 9 and are 7-0 but have not blown anybody away this year and Patrick Mahomes has not been impressive, throwing more picks than touchdowns. On the flip side, the Bucs’ Baker Mayfield has thrown 21 TDs and despite being without his two best receivers last week, he still threw for 330 yards and 3 touchdowns. Bucs get under the number.
TONIGHT’S PICK: TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS +9

Sunday NFL Pick

The Buffalo Bills are on a roll. After last week’s thumping of the Seattle Seahawks, the Bills have won 3 straight and have outscored their opponents, 88 to 40, over that span. This afternoon the only team that resides in the Empire State will host their archrival Miami Dolphins. Buffalo’s signal caller, Josh Allen, is proving week in and week out that he is the best there is. The Bills’ gunslinger has 14 passing TDs and 3 rushing with only 1 pick. The 2-5 Dolphins are just 1-2 on the road and their southpaw quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, gets too much attention, which is not warranted. The Bills are a perfect 3-0 in Orchard Park. They put a beating on the Fish in South Florida back in September, 31-10, and Tagovailoa was 17 of 25 with 3 picks. Forget about it.
