St. Louis does not play well on the road, at 7-14-3, and they usually come up short when they visit Dallas. The Blues have lost 5 of their last 7 and are dead last in the league in scoring, averaging just 2.4 goals per game. The Stars boast a 13-7-3 record at American Airlines Arena and average 3.25 goals per game, allowing just 2.73. Once again Dallas is likely to be without one of their top offensive producers, winger Mikko Rantanen, but despite that they are still the better team by far and should prevail tonight.

The Austin Peay Governors and the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles will play an early one today in Clarksville. The Governors cruised to an easy 82-71 win over the Eagles just two weeks ago in Fort Myers and should do the same again today. Peay is unbeaten on their home court and 5-1 in conference play. Florida Gulf Coast comes in at 2-4 in the ASUN and their defense would have trouble stopping a high school team. If Austin Peay wants to cover the 6.5 they will.

The Vancouver Canucks have lost 11 in a row, but they will win eventually and that could happen tonight when they host the Washington Capitals. The Caps have also been struggling, losing 3 straight and 4 of their last 5. Vancouver beat Washington, 4-3, in DC back in October so why not again tonight on their home ice?

The Edmonton Oilers will go for their third straight win when they host the New Jersey Devils tonight at Rogers Place. The Oilers have outscored their opponents 11-0 over their 2-game run and should take care of business tonight. The Devils have been inconsistent all year and have just 3 wins in their last 8 tries. The Oilers are third in the league in scoring, averaging 3.4 goals per game, and 12-6-4 on their home ice.

The Buffalo Sabres and the Carolina Hurricanes will play a matinée today in Raleigh. The Carolina Hurricanes are arguably the best team in hockey. For the Sabres to pull-off a big upset today they will have to be clicking on every cylinder and they are. The Sabres have won 15 of their last 18, are 8-1 in their last 9 road games, and beat the Canes 4-1 in their last meeting on November 23rd. Depending on where you do your shopping the Sabres are around +170 and are definitely worth a shot.

The 19-21-8 St. Louis Blues have won two straight against two of the league’s best, the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Carolina Hurricanes, but that was on their home ice. On the road the Blues are just 7-12-3 and tonight they will head north of the border to face the 24-17-8 Edmonton Oilers. Edmonton has not been kind to visiting teams with a home record of 11-6-4. They will be without Leon Draisaitl once again which hurts but they still have the best hockey player in the league, Connor McDavid. The Oilers score a lot more goals than the Blues, give up less, and should prevail tonight.
