The Denver Broncos will host the Buffalo Bills in today’s AFC Divisional Playoff game. The Broncos had a Bye last week and will be well-rested, but beating Buffalo will be no easy task. The Bills have the best quarterback on the planet, Josh Allen. The reigning MVP has been in this situation many times before and can thread a defense not only with his arm but also his legs. The Bills are #1 in the league in rushing yards per game, thanks to James Cook, who is the NFL’s leading rusher. Ed Oliver is expected to return for Buffalo, and he is one of the top DTs in the league. Oliver will pressure the inexperienced Bo Nix, which will rattle him, and that will be a problem when he is facing the league’s best defense against the pass.
TODAY’S PICK: BUFFALO BILLS +1½
Month: January 2026
Friday NHL Pick
The Carolina Hurricanes have cooled off a bit, losing their last two games, and will have a tough opponent to deal with tonight when they host the Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers. Florida is riding a 2-game winning streak with impressive road victories over the red hot Buffalo Sabres and the always tough Ottawa Senators. The Panthers are a big dog in this one, but they have the ‘Canes number. They have won both meetings with Carolina this year and 6 of the last 7. Florida is worth considering.
TONIGHT’S PICK: FLORIDA PANTHERS
Thursday NHL Pick
The Seattle Kraken lost a tough one in OT last night to the New Jersey Devils and it won’t get any easier for them tonight when they visit TD Garden and the Boston Bruins. Boston is clicking on every cylinder, winning 4 straight and 6 of their last 7. They will be well-rested after a day off yesterday and are 16-8-1 on their home ice.
TONIGHT’S PICK: BOSTON BRUINS
Wednesday NHL Pick
The Pacific leading Vegas Golden Knights will seek their fifth straight win when they head to SoCal to take on the struggling Los Angeles Kings. LA is a team that is an enigma to say the least. On the road they are an impressive 12-6-5 but when they lace up the skates at Crypto, they are 7-10-5. Away from the strip, the Golden Knights boast an 11-5-6 record however they have lost their last 4 meetings with the Kings – but trends end.
TONIGHT’S PICK: VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS
Tuesday NHL Pick
The Columbus Blue Jackets fired their head coach Dean Evason on Monday, replacing him with Rick Bowness and when that happens the team has new life and starts to win. Tonight I expect the Blue Jackets to do just that when they host the 19-22-4 Calgary Flames. The Flames are just 1-4 in their last 5 and have been clunkers on the road, at 7-15-2. The 19-19-7 Jackets have held their own at Nationwide Arena, coming in at 9-7-4. Columbus is expected to have Jet Greaves between the pipes, who boasts a 2.71 GAA, and should be able to shut down a lethargic Flames offense that is 31st in the league in scoring.
TONIGHT’S PICK: COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS
Monday NHL Pick
The Buffalo Sabres are the hottest thing on ice. They have won 3 straight and 13 of their last 14 which is a franchise record. Tonight they will host the reigning Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers who are a shadow of what they were last year. The Panthers have been inconsistent all year and have just 3 wins in their last 8 tries. They had better be clicking on every cylinder if they want to get out of Western New York with a victory. The Sabres average more goals per game than the Panthers, give up less, and are a lethal 14-5-2 at KeyBank Center.
TONIGHT’S PICK: BUFFALO SABRES
Sunday NHL Pick
The Winnipeg Jets finally got back in the Win column when they snapped an 11-game skid on Friday with a dominant 5-1 win at home over the Los Angeles Kings and winning can be contagious. Today in a matinée at Canada Life Centre, the Jets will be hosting the struggling New Jersey Devils who have lost 3 straight and 7 of their last 9. Winnipeg should be able to find the back of the net against the Devils’ expected goalie Jacob Markstrom who has a 3.48 GAA. When these two clubs meet, the Jets usually come out on top, winning the last 2 meetings and 6 of the last 8.
TODAY’S PICK: WINNIPEG JETS
