The New York Rangers will conclude their 4-game road trip when they visit Honda Center tonight to face the Anaheim Ducks. The Ducks, who used to occupy first place in the Pacific Division, have been spiraling out of control and have now lost 6 in a row. A visit though from the Rangers should get them back on track. New York is just 1-4-1-0 on the road this season and 2-5 in their last 7 visits to Honda Center. Anaheim has been dominating the Metropolitan Division, going 8-1 in their last 9 and the home team has won the last 4 meetings between these two clubs. The Ducks right the ship.

The Los Angeles Dodgers knew they couldn’t lose last night’s game, or they were done, and they didn’t, even if it took over 7 hours to do it. The Dodgers will have all the momentum going into tonight’s Game 4 and 56,000 Dodger fans for added support. Nathan Eovaldi was slated to start for the Red Sox tonight but threw 97 pitches in relief last night and as of now the lefty, Drew Pomeranz, is expected to start for Boston. The 2018 season is one Pomeranz would like to forget. He was a dismal 2-6, with a 6.08 ERA and a 1.77 WHIP. The well rested southpaw, Rich Hill, is expected to tap the rubber for Los Angeles. The veteran lefty was on his game in the regular season with a record of 11-5, a 3.59 ERA, a 1.16 WHIP, and in the post-season he is 0-0 with a 2.61 ERA. The Dodgers are 7-0 in Hill’s last 7 starts, 6-1 in his last 7 starts at Chavez Ravine and with this morning’s victory, Los Angeles is now 5-1 in their last 6 playoff games at Dodger Stadium.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are in a world of trouble, down 2-0 to the Boston Red Sox, but now the Series switches to Dodger Stadium. Tonight they won’t have to deal with freezing temperatures and a left handed starter. Righty Rick Porcello will get the start for Boston. The former Cy Young winner was a respectable 17-7 with a 4.28 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP in the regular season but struggled in his last post-season outing against Houston, yielding 4 runs on 7 hits and 2 homers in 4 innings of work. The rookie flame thrower, Walker Buehler, will get the nod for Los Angeles. Buehler was 8-5 in the regular season with a 2.62 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP. In 12 starts this year at Chavez Ravine, he had an ERA of only 1.93. Buehler was roughed up in his first two post-season starts but rebounded in his last turn against Milwaukee, striking out 7 and yielding just 1 run in 4-2/3 innings of work. The Dodgers are 6-1 in their last 7 games against right handed starters and 4-1 in their last 5 playoff games at home. If the Dodgers lose tonight, it’s over and they know it.

The Nashville Predators will put their perfect 4-0 road record on the line tonight when they head to New Jersey to take on the Devils. New Jersey is 4th in the Metropolitan Division at 4-2-0-0 and have been a force at Prudential Center, with a record of 4-1-0-0, but have struggled against the Central Division, going 2-6 in their last 8 overall. On the flip side, Nashville sits atop of the Central Division at 7-2-0-0 and are 5-0 in their last 5 against the Metropolitan Division. The Devils are riddled with injuries, with defensemen Steven Santini, Ben Lovejoy, and right winger Drew Stafford all on the IR, and they could also be without center Travis Zajac for tonight’s match-up, who is battling a lower body injury. The Predators are 22-7 in their last 29 road games and the road team is 6-0 in the last 6 match-ups between these two clubs.

The Toronto Maple Leafs will look to get back on track tonight when they visit Bell MTS Place to take on the Winnipeg Jets. Toronto will have their hands full because Winnipeg dominates at home with a record of 48-14 in their last 62. The Leafs, who roared out of the gate to start the season, have now lost two in a row and their prolific offense found the back of the net just once during that span. However, the Leafs are 4-0 on the road where they are averaging 5.75 points per game and they have scored a total of 34 goals on the seasons with their young phenom Auston Matthews responsible for 10 of them. Matthews and company get back to what they do best, score goals.
