The San Francisco Giants will send Johnny Cueto to the bump tonight to face Patrick Corbin and the Arizona Diamondbacks in the second game of a 4-game set at Chase Field. Corbin was 2-1 in Spring training, with an ERA of 3.44, and is 4-5 in 14 career starts against San Francisco. The Boston Red Sox will open the season with an interleague matchup today at Fenway against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Rick Porcello will take the hill for the Red Sox. Porcello was lights out in 2016, with a record of 22-4, an ERA of 3.15, a WHIP of 1.09 and was 13-1 at Fenway with an ERA of 2.97. Gerrit Cole gets the nod for the Pirates. Cole was 7-10 in 2016, with an ERA of 3.88, a WHIP of 1.44 and the Bucs are 1-4 in his last 5 interleague starts. With the current Pirates hitting a combined .130 against Porcello, the edge goes to Boston in this one.

New York has been solid at Barclays Center, with a record 20-12-5-2, and they won the last contest with the Devils, 6-4, on February 19th. New York needs this win; I like their chances tonight.

If the Detroit Pistons are going to end their 5-game skid, it will be tonight when they host the NBA’s worst team, the Brooklyn Nets. Brooklyn is a dismal 16-58 on the season, 6-30 on the road and 2 of their rare wins this season were against the Pistons but that was in Brooklyn. On the bright side for Detroit, they are 11-0 ATS in their last 11 home games against a team with a losing record, and the home team between these two clubs is 6-0 ATS in the last 6 meetings. This is a revenge game for Detroit and they would love nothing more than to blow these guys out.

Calgary has won 3 in a row at home and with a victory tonight, will clinch a playoff berth. The Flames won on Monday, beating Colorado 4-2, and with 1 day’s rest they are 12-3 in their last 15 games. The Kings have lost 2 in a row, are 1-4 in their last 5 games overall, 0-5 in their last 5 road games, and 0-6 in their last 6 against the Pacific. Los Angeles will put up a fight tonight but Calgary should get this one.
