The Pittsburgh Pirates will take their 4-game road losing streak into Milwaukee tonight to open a 3-game set with the Brewers. The NL-Central leading Brewers are 24-16 overall and 10-8 at American Family Field. Milwaukee is expected to have Colin Rea on the hill. Rea is a perfect 3-0 with a 3.29 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP. The Bucs reside in the third spot in the NL-Central, with a record of 18-23 and are 9-11 on the road. Pittsburgh’s expected starter is Mitch Keller. He is 3-3 with a 4.41 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP. The Brewers can score runs, averaging over 5 per game with a team batting average of .254. Milwaukee is 11-6 in division play and won the last meeting on April 25th with Pittsburgh, 7-5.
TONIGHT’S PICK: MILWAUKEE BREWERS

It appears that no one is able to slow down the Philadelphia Phillies, especially the Miami Marlins. The Phillies will go for a 3-game series sweep over the Fish in an early one today at LoanDepot Park. The NL-East leading Phillies are 9-1 over their last 10, 13-5 on the road, and will have their ace, Zack Wheeler, on the hill. Wheeler has been throwing flames. He is 4-3 with an ERA of only 1.64 and a 0.89 WHIP. The bottom-feeding Marlins have lost 5 straight and are a dismal 5-17 at home. Today Miami is expected to have Braxton Garrett on the hill and he will be making his season debut after coming off the IL. Philadelphia is averaging over 5 runs per game. They have a team batting average of .263 and a team ERA of just 3.22.
TODAY’S PICK: PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES

The Texas Rangers lost game 1 of their 3-game set to the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field but bounce back tonight. Chalk last night’s loss up to not being used to the altitude but they should be well acclimated tonight. The AL-West leading Rangers will send Andrew Heaney to the hill and he is due for his first win. He is 0-4 with a 4.50 ERA and a decent WHIP at 1.11. The bottom-feeding Rockies, who are dead last in the NL-West, are expected to have Ryan Feltner on the bump and his numbers are not good. Feltner is 1-3 with a 5.54 ERA and a 1.46 WHIP. The Rangers are averaging 5 runs per game with a team batting average of .255 and will get to Feltner tonight. Take the champs.
TONIGHT’S PICK: TEXAS RANGERS

The Arizona Diamondbacks and the Baltimore Orioles will open a 3-game set tonight at Camden Yards. The D-backs are 18-20 overall, 9-10 on the road, and are coming off a 5-4 victory yesterday over the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park. The Orioles were off on Thursday so they will be well-rested going into tonight’s game. The O’s are 24-12, 12-7 at Birdland, and are expected to have Cole Irvin on the hill. Irvin has been in the zone with a record of 3-1, a 2.86 ERA, and a WHIP of just 1.07. The expected starter for the Snakes is Brandon Pfaadt. He comes in at 1-2 with an elevated ERA of 4.61 and a 1.24 WHIP. The D-backs are hot, winners of their last 4, but they will have their hands full tonight. The Orioles are averaging over 5 runs per game with one of the lowest team ERA’s in the Bigs and are 7-3 over their last 10. Consider the O’s and go to the wicket.
TONIGHT’S PICK: BALTIMORE ORIOLES

The 24-13 Cleveland Guardians will open a 4-game set tonight with the 9-28 Chicago White Sox on the south side. The Guardians are winners of 4 of their last 5 and are expected to turn to Ben Lively to keep the ball rolling. Lively has pitched well with a record of 1-1, a 2.08 ERA, and a 1.02 WHIP. The White Sox are expected to counter with Erick Fedde. Fedde has decent numbers at 2-0, with a 3.46 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP, but in his last turn against the Cardinals he yielded 5 runs with 5 walks over 4-1/3 innings. The White Sox have the worst record in the AL and are averaging under 3 runs per game with a team ERA of almost 5. Cleveland is the side to consider in this one.
TONIGHT’S PICK: CLEVELAND GUARDIANS

If there is another team on the planet other than the Boston Red Sox that the New York Yankees want to beat it’s the Houston Astros and that is exactly what they have been doing. With last night’s 10-3 thumping of the Stros at the Stadium, the Bombers have now won all 5 meetings this year with Houston and 9 of the last 10. Tonight they will go for 6 straight wins against Houston when they play the middle game of their 3-game set in the Bronx. The expected starter for New York is lefty Carlos Rodón. He has pitched well, with a record of 2-2, a 3.68 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP. New York should have no problem getting to Houston’s expected starter, Spencer Arrighetti, who is winless at 0-3 with a bloated ERA of 8.27 and a 1.96 WHIP. The 24-13 Yankees are hot, winners of their last 4, and are 12-5 in games played on River Ave. Houston is a shell of the team they were when Dusty was the skipper. The Astros are 12-23 overall and just 5-11 on the road.
TONIGHT’S PICK: NEW YORK YANKEES

The 19-19 San Diego Padres took game 1 of their 3-game set with the 21-15 Chicago Cubs last night, 6-3, but tonight they are going to have to face the Cubs’ rookie sensation, southpaw Shōta Imanaga, and he has been off the charts. Imanaga is a perfect 5-0 with an ERA hardly visible at 0.78 and a WHIP of only 0.75. San Diego is expected to give the nod to Randy Vásquez, who was just called back up to the Bigs from AAA-El Paso. In three starts with the Friars this year, Vásquez is 0-1 with a 5.87 ERA and a 1.83 WHIP. In his last turn against the Rockies, he allowed 4 runs on 6 hits over just 2-2/3 innings and San Diego went on to lose, 10-9. Chicago has played well at Wrigley with a record of 12-5 and in Imanaga’s six starts this year, the Cubs have won all six.
