Sunday MLB Pick

The Chicago White Sox ran into one of the best upstart pitchers in the business yesterday, Tarik Skobal; keep an eye on him, but today is a different story. Detroit is expected to send José Ureña to the hill and Chicago’s potent offense will light him up. Ureña is 2-4 with a 4.14 ERA, a 1.44 WHIP, and even with yesterday’s win, the Tigers are still just 4-17 in their last 21 on the south side.
TODAY’S PICK: CHICAGO WHITE SOX

Saturday MLB Pick

If the San Diego Padres want to make it 3 in a row against the visiting New York Mets, they had better be on their A game because Jacob deGrom will be tapping the rubber for the Metropolitans. DeGrom is the best in the business but is beatable because the Mets are lethargic when it comes to scoring runs. Joe Musgrove is expected to get the nod for the Friars and if he keeps it tight the Friars win this game.
TONIGHT’S PICK: SAN DIEGO PADRES

Thursday MLB Pick

The Milwaukee Brewers will host the struggling Arizona Diamondbacks tonight when they open a 4-game set at American Family Field. Milwaukee had their 5-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday but should get back on track tonight. Arizona has lost 15 of their last 17 and are a dismal 9-21 on the road. Tonight they are expected to send Jon Duplantier to the hill and in his season debut against the Cards last Thursday, he yielded 4 runs on 7 hits in 4-2/3 innings of work – not good. The Brewers are expected to send lefty Brett Anderson to the rubber and his numbers are not overly impressive, at 2-3, with a 4.18 ERA and a 1.45 WHIP, but the Diamondbacks are just 8-22 in their last 30 games against a left-handed starter. Milwaukee has owned the D-backs, going 9-2 in their last 11 overall, and are 7-1 in their last 8 at home against the Snakes.
TONIGHT’S PICK: MILWAUKEE BREWERS

Wednesday MLB Pick

The Toronto Blue Jays will go for a 2-game sweep of the Miami Marlins tonight at Sahlen Field in Buffalo, New York. The Jays are unable to play at Rogers Centre due to COVID-19 restrictions but that’s ok, Buffalo will do just fine. Sahlen Field is the Jays AAA stadium and that is where the young guns of the Jays got their feet wet so they know it well, including tonight’s expected starter Alek Manoah. Manoah lived up to all of his expectations when he made his major league debut on Thursday against the New York Yankees in the Bronx where he held the Bombers to just 2 hits and struck out 7 over 6 innings, resulting in a 2-0 Toronto win. Miami is expected to send Pablo López to the hill to try to end their 4-game skid. López is just 1-3 on the season but has good numbers with an ERA of 2.71 and a 1.13 WHIP. Unfortunately for López, the Jays have won 3 of their last 4, are 9-1 in their last 10 interleague games, 9-1 in their last 10 against the National League East, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is on fire.
TONIGHT’S PICK: TORONTO BLUE JAYS

Tuesday MLB Pick

The NL West leading San Francisco Giants have now won 4 in a row after pounding the Los Angeles Angels yesterday at Oracle Park, 6-1. Tonight they will wrap up their quick 2-game set and two lefties expected to oppose each other, the Giants’ Alex Wood and the Angels’ Andrew Heaney. The better of these two hurlers is by far Alex Wood. Wood is 5-2 with a 2.44 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP, as opposed to Heaney who is 2-3 with an elevated ERA of 5.24 and a 1.28 WHIP. The Halos are 0-4 in their last 4 meetings with the Giants, 0-6 in their last 6 at Oracle, and without Trout, and Ohtani who cannot DH, good luck.
TONIGHT’S PICK: SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS

Friday MLB Pick

After falling to the Chicago White Sox last night, 5-1, the Baltimore Orioles have now lost 10 in a row. Tonight they will play the second game of their 4-game set with Chicago and their prospects of snapping their skid do not look good. Matt Harvey is expected to get the nod for Baltimore and he is a far cry from the days when he was the ace for the Mets. Harvey is 0-3 in his last 3 turns and his ERA is a staggering 15.19 during that span. The White Sox are expected to counter with lefty Dallas Keuchel, who is 3-1 on the season with a 4.28 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP. The Orioles are just 2-5 in their last 7 trips to Chicago and 0-4 in their last 4 against a left-handed starter.
