The San Diego Padres are on a roll and will make the short trip to Angel Stadium tonight for a quick 2-game set against the Los Angeles Angels. The Padres have won 2 straight, 11 of their last 14, and are expected to send Dinelson Lamet to the rubber. Lamet has been delivering heat. He is 2-1 with a 2.35 ERA and a 0.94 WHIP. Julio Teherán is expected to get the nod for the Halos and his best days are behind him. Teherán is winless at 0-2 with a 9.17 ERA and a 1.70 WHIP. The Pads get overshadowed by the Dodgers but this is a really talented team and they have one of the best young ballplayers in the league, Fernando Tatís Jr. The 21-year-old is batting .313 with an OPS of 1.055, 33 Ribs and 13 homers. El Niño and the Friars get it done.
TONIGHT’S PICK: SAN DIEGO PADRES

There will be a pitching mismatch tonight when the Kansas City Royals host the Cleveland Indians at Kauffman Stadium. Matt Harvey is expected to tap the rubber for the Royals and he is not what he used to be. The once upon a time flamethrower is 0-1 with an 11.12 ERA and a 2.29 WHIP. The Indians’ Zach Plesac is slated to start and he has been delivering, with a record of 1-1, a 1.29 ERA and a 0.67 WHIP. Nasty.
TONIGHT’S PICK: CLEVELAND INDIANS

The surging Tampa Bay Rays are expected to be in the Bronx tonight to face the New York Yankees. The Rays have won 5 straight and 8 of their last 10 but will have to face the best in the business, Gerrit Cole. Cole is 4-1 with a 3.51 ERA, a stingy WHIP of only 0.95, and has only one loss since May 2019. That’s domination. Consider the Bombers.
TONIGHT’S PICK: NEW YORK YANKEES

The Minnesota Twins and the Detroit Tigers are expected to play an early one today at Comerica Park. The Twins have lost 4 straight and will turn to Kenta Maeda to get them back on track. Maeda has been delivering with a perfect record of 4-0, a 2.21 ERA and a stingy WHIP of only 0.71. The Tigers have Casey Mize slated to take the hill and his numbers are not good. Mize is 0-1 with an inflated 7.04 ERA and a 1.83 WHIP. Despite yesterday’s losses, Minnesota is still 11-4 in their last 15 in the Motor City and will get to Mize today.
TODAY’S PICK: MINNESOTA TWINS

The Chicago White Sox and the Kansas City Royals are expected to meet again in a matinée today at Guarantee Rate Field. Chicago keeps rolling, downing KC last night, 6-5. The White Sox have now won 3 straight and 10 of their last 11. They belted another 3 homers last night, bringing their total to 62, and that does not bode well for Brady Singer, who is slated to toe the rubber for the Royals. Singer is 1-3, with a 5.16 ERA, a 1.35 WHIP, and has allowed 7 home runs this year in 29-2/3 innings of work. Dylan Cease is expected to get the nod for the White Sox. Cease has been delivering, with a record of 4-2, a 3.13 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP. Chicago is 8-3 against Kansas City in their last 11 on the South Side and have won all 4 meetings this year. Why should today be any different?

TODAY’S PICK: MINNESOTA TWINS – GAME 1

The Minnesota Twins have the White Sox and Indians breathing down their neck for the AL Central lead and had better get back on track after losing two straight. Tonight they will have that opportunity when they visit Comerica Park to open a 4-game set with the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers have been playing better lately but are expected to send lefty Matthew Boyd to the hill. The once dominant Boyd has been struggling this year with a record of 0-4, a bloated ERA of 8.48 and a 1.74 WHIP. The expected starter for the Twins has been just the opposite. Randy Dobnak is 5-1 with an ERA of only 1.78 and a 1.02 WHIP. Despite being riddled with injuries, the Twins are still 6-4 in their last 10 and have had the Tigers’ number at Comerica, going 20-7 in their last 27.
