The Tampa Bay Rays will limp into Chase Field tonight to open a 3-game interleague set with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Tampa is winless on the road, at 0-3, and have lost 5 of their last 6. Their expected starter for tonight is Zack Littell and he has been getting lit up. Littell is 0-4 with a 5.48 ERA, a 1.22 WHIP, and the Rays are 0-5 in his last 5 starts. The Snakes have been just the opposite, winning 6 of their last 8, and are expected to send Brandon Pfaadt to the bump. Pfaadt is 3-1 with an ERA of 3.04 and a 1.10 WHIP. Tampa has won the last 5 meetings with Arizona but trends end.
TONIGHT’S PICK: ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS

The New York Mets will open a 3-game set tonight at Citi Field with the Philadelphia Phillies and the Mets are hot. New York is coming off a 4-game sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals and is expected to have Tylor Megill on the hill. Megill is 2-2 with an excellent ERA of only 1.40, a 1.34 WHIP, and is 3-1 lifetime against Philadelphia with a 2.51 ERA. The Phillies are expected to send Aaron Nola to the hill. The once dominant hurler is no more. Nola is 0-4 with a bloated ERA of 6.65 and a 1.66 WHIP. The Mets have won the last two meetings with the Phillies and are 9-1 in Queens this season.
TONIGHT’S PICK: NEW YORK METS

The New York Yankees will go for a series win over the Tampa Bay Rays today when they wrap up their 4-game set at George M. Steinbrenner Field. Due to the hurricane that ripped off the roof at the Trop, Tampa’s home games will be played at Steinbrenner Field which is the Yankees Spring Training facility and their turf, not Tampa’s. Today’s expected starter is Ryan Pepiot for the Rays. He comes in at 1-2 with a 4.01 ERA and a 1.59 WHIP. The Yankees are expected to counter with southpaw Max Fried and he has been delivering. Fried is 3-0 with a 1.88 ERA, a 1.17 WHIP, and New York is 4-0 in his last 4 starts. The Bombers are 5-0 in their last 5 in game 4 of a series and should come out on top.
TODAY’S PICK: NEW YORK YANKEES

The San Diego Padres and the Chicago Cubs will play the rubber game of their 3-game set today at Petco Park. The Friars are the side to consider in this one. The Padres are 11-1 at home and will have Nick Pivetta on the hill, who is 2-1 with a WHIP of only 0.82.

The Toronto Blue Jays will open a 3-game set tonight with the Atlanta Braves at Rogers Centre. Atlanta is 4-11 on the season, a dismal 1-9 on the road, and if that doesn’t warrant a manager firing, I don’t know what does. Toronto is 5-2 at home and is expected to have Easton Lucas on the hill. Lucas has been delivering, with a record of 2-0, no earned runs, and a WHIP of only 0.68.
TONIGHT’S PICK: TORONTO BLUE JAYS

The Seattle Mariners are going for a sweep of the Texas Rangers today at T-Mobile Park but that is not going to happen. The best skipper in the game, Bruce Bochy, will have Nathan Eovaldi on the hill for the Rangers. Eovaldi has a 2.29 ERA and a 0.66 WHIP. Unlike other managers in the majors, Bochy will not pull the pitcher after 5 innings if he is producing. Look for Eovaldi to go deep in the game.
