The Dodgers travel to Queens tonight to take on the Mets and I’m siding with the home team in this one. Harvey gets the call for the Mets and he has been sharp, posting an ERA of 1.02 and a WHIP of 0.85 over his last 3 outings. The lefty Anderson gets the start for the Dodgers tonight and he has not been on his mark, posting an ERA of 7.16 and a WHIP of 1.59 over his last 3 games. Dodgers have not done well in road playoff games, going 0-6 over their last 6 games. Gibson is behind home plate and the Mets are 5-0 when he’s been umping.

Blue Jays avoid the sweep today. Toronto has done well in Texas. They are 8-2 in their last 10 games there. Estrada’s on the hill for the Jays and he loves Sundays. He’s 5-0 in his last 5 Sunday starts. The lefty Perez is pitching for the Rangers and that might fare well for the Blue Jays, because the Jays are 4-1 in their last 5 against southpaws.

Pitcher stats are about equal between McHugh (HOU) and Ventura (KC). The Royals are 6-1 in Ventura’s last 7 home starts. KC likes playing at home this season with a record of 51-30.

The Jays have not been in a playoff game since 1993 so the home crowd should be revved up for this one. Two studs are on the bump tonight – Arrieta for the Cubs and Cole for the Bucs. The Cubs are 0-4 in their last 4 road playoff games. The Pirates are 23-5 in Cole’s last 28 home starts and 53-28 at home this year overall. In Cole’s last 9 starts against the Cubs, the Pirates are 8-1. The home crowd should be a factor for McCutchin and company tonight.
