The New York Yankees fell to the Oakland Athletics in Sac last night, 11-7, but will bounce back today when they face ex-Yankee Luis Severino. The Bombers know him well and will light him up.

The New York Mets will be hosting the Chicago Cubs tonight in Queens. New York is 14-3 at home and it doesn’t get much better than that. Taylor Megill is expected on the hill for the Mets and he has been in the zone with a 2.50 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP.
TONIGHT’S PICK: NEW YORK METS

The Seattle Mariners and the Toronto Blue Jays will open a 3-game set tonight at T-Mobile Park. The Mariners are 12-6 at home and will have Luis Castillo on the bump. He is 3-2 with a 3.29 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP. The Blue Jays are terrible on the road, at 6-12, and they have the most inept manager in the majors.
TONIGHT’S PICK: SEATTLE MARINERS

The Philadelphia Phillies will face the Tampa Bay Rays tonight at Steinbrenner Field. Jesús Luzardo is on the hill for Philadelphia. Luzardo is 3-0 with a 1.94 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP. Ryan Pepiot will get the nod for Tampa. Pepiot is 2-4 with a 4.23 ERA and a 1.41 WHIP. The Phillies are going for a sweep of the Rays tonight and they should do it.
TONIGHT’S PICK: PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES

Yesterday’s game between the Detroit Tigers and the Colorado Rockies was postponed but will be played tonight at Coors Field. Refer to yesterday’s blog for details on tonight’s pick. Nothing has changed and the pitching matchup remains the same.

The Detroit Tigers, who have the best record in the American League, will face the Colorado Rockies tonight at Coors Field. Jackson Jobe will get the nod for Detroit. Jobe is 2-0 with a 3.38 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP. Colorado is an expected to counter with Chase Dollander, who is 2-3 with a bloated ERA of 6.48 and a 1.52 WHIP. The Tigers are the better team tonight, 1 through 9, and should get the win.
TONIGHT’S PICK: DETROIT TIGERS

The San Diego Padres have won 5 straight but that ends tonight when they open a 3-game set with the New York Yankees in the Bronx. The Yankees are 11-7 at the Stadium and are averaging over 5 runs per game. Carlos Rodón is expected to get the nod for the Yankees. The southie Rodón has been in the zone and will shut down the Friars bats. The Bombers at home are always the side to consider.
