Are the New York Yankees going to get swept by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Bronx? It’s not happening. The Bombers will have the flame thrower, Luis Gil, on the hill and he has been delivering. Gil is 8-1 with a 1.82 ERA and a 0.92 WHIP. Forget about it.
TONIGHT’S PICK: NEW YORK YANKEES

The AL Central leading Cleveland Guardians lost game 1 of their 3-game set to the bottom-feeding Miami Marlins last night at LoanDepot Park but even the score tonight. The Marlins, who are 12-23 at home, will likely send Roddery Muñoz to the hill and the Guardians should give this guy an early exit. Muñoz is 1-1 with a 5.17 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP. The Guardians are expected to have Ben Lively toeing the rubber and he has been in the zone. Lively is 5-2 with a 2.84 ERA, a WHIP of 1.16, and Cleveland is 4-0 in his last 4 starts.
TONIGHT’S PICK: CLEVELAND GUARDIANS

The Baltimore Orioles are on a rare two game losing streak and will look to get back on the rails when they head to St. Pete tonight to open a 4-game set with the Tampa Bay Rays. Baltimore usually gets the better of Tampa and took two out of three from the Rays just last week at Birdland. The O’s are expected to turn to Cole Irvin to deliver strikes and he has been doing just that. He is 5-2 with a 2.84 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP. The Rays are expected to give the nod to Aaron Civale. Civale has not been at his best. He comes in at 2-4 with a 5.37 ERA, a 1.34 WHIP, and Tampa is 0-5 in his last 5 starts. Baltimore has the edge in runs per game, run differential, batting average, hits, homers and the list goes on.
TONIGHT’S PICK: BALTIMORE ORIOLES

The New York Yankees will go for a series and season sweep of the Minnesota Twins tonight when they wrap up their 3-game set at the Stadium. The Bombers’ bats were active again last night in their 9-5 victory over Minnesota and have now outscored the Twins 28-7 over their first 5 meetings. Tonight’s expected starter for New York is Marcus Stroman and he has been dealing. Over his last 3 turns, Stroman is 2-0 with a 1.31 ERA and a hardly visible WHIP of 0.77. Minnesota is expected to counter with Pablo López and over his last 3 turns, not so good. López is 1-2 with an elevated ERA of 7.56 and a 1.44 WHIP. Numbers like that do not bode well against the lethal Yankees lineup. The Bombers are hot and clicking on every cylinder so ride them until they are not.
