The Baltimore Orioles will go for a series win over the Boston Red Sox when they wrap up their 3-game set tonight at Camden Yards. The 34-19 Orioles are expected to have Corbin Burnes on the hill and he is delivering as usual. Burnes is 4-2 with a 2.60 ERA and a 1.07 WHIP. The 28-27 Red Sox are expected to turn to Kutter Crawford to throw strikes. Crawford is upside down in the win-loss column, at 2-3, but has good numbers with a 2.89 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP, so this will not be a walk in the park for the Birds. However, Baltimore is 4-1 this season over Boston, they don’t usually lose two in a row, and are always tough at Birdland, with a record of 18-11.

The New York Yankees are smoking hot and will go for a 3-game sweep today on the road over the San Diego Padres. The Bombers have won six straight on the road and no one is slowing them down, especially not the Friars. Judge is clicking as well as Soto, Volpe, and Stanton. This lineup puts fear in any opposing pitcher. There is no weak spot and San Diego’s expected starter, Joe Musgrove, will find out how lethal they are.

The Philadelphia Phillies lost yesterday to the Colorado Rockies but chalk that up to altitude. Tonight they will be acclimated and will have Aaron Nola on the bump. He is 6-2 with a 3.05 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP. The Rockies are expected to have Dakota Hudson tapping the rubber. Hudson is 1-7 with a 5.17 ERA and a 1.67 WHIP. The Phillies rarely lose two in a row and are 6-0 in Nola’s last 6 road starts.

Zac Gallen is on the hill for the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight when they host the Miami Marlins. Gallen is one of the best in the majors and will be opposing the worst team in the National League.

Over his last 3 turns, Gil is 3-0 with an ERA of only 1.00 and a 0.89 WHIP. On the Seattle side, they are expected to give the nod to Luis Castillo. Since the Mariners signed him to his big deal, Castillo has not been the same. The Yankees head off to San Diego with a split.

The Toronto Blue jays are starting to click and it was just a matter of time. The Jays’ bats will be active again tonight when they host the Chicago White Sox in the second game of their 3-game set. Toronto’s Bo Bichette had 4 hits in last night’s 9-3 win and I expect more of the same tonight. The lowly Sox will have Garrett Crochet on the hill. Crochet is 4-4 with a 4.18 ERA and that is hittable.
