Despite being decimated with injuries, the New York Yankees keep winning. The Bronx Bombers have won 4 straight and 8 of their last 10. Tonight they will be in Milwaukee to take on the Brewers. Both Adrian Houser and Frankie Montas are mediocre at best but what is worth mentioning is that the Yankees have the edge in runs per game, run differential per game, hits per game, batting average, and the list goes on.

The Tampa Bay Rays will wrap up their 4-game set today with the Toronto Blue Jays in a matinée at Rogers Centre. The expected starters are southpaw Shane McClanahan for Tampa and Kevin Gausman for Toronto. Gausman has pitched well, at 12-9, with a 3.31 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP but McClanahan is in another arena. The lefty is 11-5 with a 2.20 ERA and a WHIP of only 0.86. McClanahan will keep the Jays’ young guns in check. They are just 1-6 in their last 7 against a left-handed starter.

The NL Central-leading St. Louis Cardinals will be a home dog tonight when they take on their division rival, the Milwaukee Brewers. The Cardinals fell to the Brew Crew last night, 8-4, but following a loss they are 14-3 in their last 17 and they will have the cagey veteran Adam Wainwright on the hill.

Pivetta is upside-down at 9-11 with a 4.29 ERA, a 1.32 WHIP, and Boston is 0-5 in his last 5 starts against a team with a winning record.
TONIGHT’S PICK: NEW YORK YANKEES

The Los Angeles Angels will be in Cleveland for a 3-game set with the Guardians. Cleveland has everything to play for and LA does not. The guys from the flats are just 2½ games up on the Chicago White Sox so every game means something from here on out. As usual, the Angels are going packing. Urías is 15-7 with a 2.29 ERA and a WHIP of only 0.95. The Friars are expected to counter with southpaw Blake Snell. He has been erratic all year and is 6-8 with a 3.73 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP.
