The New York Yankees are steamrolling everybody and will go for a 3-game sweep of the Cleveland Guardians today at Progressive Field. The starting pitcher for Cleveland is Triston McKenzie. He is 4-6 with a 4.03 ERA, a 1.05 WHIP, and has given up 16 homers in his 13 starts – not good numbers when you’re facing the Bombers.
TODAY’S PICK: NEW YORK YANKEES

The Chicago White Sox and the San Francisco Giants will square off today at Oracle Park. Both teams will have guys that are dealing, with Dylan Cease getting the nod for the White Sox and Logan Webb for the Giants. The difference maker will be the skippers. Chicago has Tony La Russa running the show and San Francisco has Gabe Kapler; no comparison. The boys from the Southside are 9-2 in their last 11 overall against the Giants and 5-1 in their last 6 in San Francisco.
TODAY’S PICK: CHICAGO WHITE SOX

The Los Angeles Dodgers are still the best in the NL West, even with Dave Roberts calling the shots. They will face the San Diego Padres tonight in the second game of their 4-game set at the Ravine. Tony Gonsolin will be on the hill for the Dodgers and he has been throwing flames. Gonsolin is 9-0 with a 1.58 ERA and a 0.85 WHIP. Blake Snell is expected to take the bump for the Friars. The lefty is a far cry from what he was in his Cy Young year of 2018. Snell is winless at 0-5 with a 5.60 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP. The Padres do not do well at Dodger Stadium and are 1-5 in their last 6 road games.
TONIGHT’S PICK: LOS ANGELES DODGERS

The Cleveland Guardians appeared to be dead in the water last night, down 3 runs in the 10th to the Minnesota Twins, but this team doesn’t quit. They came out and answered with 4 of their own and won the game, 7-6. Today the Guardians wrap up their 5-game set with the Twins in an early one at Progressive Field. Momentum will definitely be on Cleveland’s side and they will have their ace, Shane Bieber, on the hill. Bieber is off to a bit of a slow start but is still 3-4 with a 3.07 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP. Minnesota will counter with the veteran, Chris Archer. Archer is 2-3 with a 3.14 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP. The Twins’ lead in the AL Central is dwindling. The Guardians are on their tail and they can smell blood.
TODAY’S PICK: CLEVELAND GUARDIANS

The New York Yankees just keep winning baseball games and that’s what they will do today against the Oakland Athletics in a matinée at The Stadium. Jameson Taillon will be at the helm today for the Bombers. He is 8-1 with a 3.19 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP. On the flip side, lefty Cole Irvin will be tapping the rubber for the Athletics. He is 2-5 with a 3.39 ERA, a 1.23 WHIP, and we know what the Yanks do to southies. New York is 33-9 in the Bronx and playing the worst team in the Majors.

The Baltimore Orioles are a team to keep your eye on and they proved it last night. Mountcastle and company took it to the Seattle Mariners, 9-2, and have now won 7 of their last 10. Tonight they will play the second game of their 3-game set at T-Mobile Park. On the hill will be lefty Robbie Ray for the Mariners and Dean Kremer for the upstart O’s. Kremer is 2-1 with a 1.17 ERA and Ray is 6-6 with a 4.07 ERA. Baltimore is 5-2 in their last 7 against a left-handed starter and win again. Take the underdog Orioles.
TONIGHT’S PICK: BALTIMORE ORIOLES

Baseball is all about pitching and the Texas Rangers have the edge tonight against the Kansa City Royals. Martín Pérez will be on the hill for Texas and Kris Bubic for the Royals, and numbers don’t lie. Pérez is 5-2 with a 1.96 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP. Bubic is 1-4, has an ERA that belongs in the minors at 7.41, and a 1.79 WHIP. The Rangers can smack the ball and get to Bubic tonight.
