Since Inside The Chalk started in 2015, we have yet to lose a CFL game, with 10 wins and 1 push. Let’s keep it going today by taking the Montreal Alouettes +9.5 points over the BC Lions. This game is being played in British Columbia and the Alouettes are 2-2 ATS on the road, averaging 23.5 points per game and allowing just 21.5. At home, the Lions are 2-2 ATS, averaging 22.0 points per game and allowing 29.5. The expected return of wide receiver Duron Carter from a suspension should give the Alouettes some added fire power.

I like another road favorite tonight the Ottawa RedBlacks, who will face the Montreal Alouettes at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium. The numbers on the road for Ottawa are impressive. The RedBlacks are 3-1-0, 6-1 ATS in their last 7, and they are averaging 33.0 points per game and allowing 25.0. On flip side, Montreal has struggled at home, owning a 1-4-0 record, averaging just 19.4 points per game and allowing 26.4. The Alouettes are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 home games and 4-12 ATS in their last 16 overall. In the last 6 meetings with the Alouettes, the RedBlacks are 5-1 ATS. This line opened at a pick and is now Ottawa -2.5. You know what that means.

The British Columbia Lions will take their 4-1-0 road record into Toronto tonight to take on the Argonauts. Toronto has struggled at BMO Field, posting a record of 1-4-0, averaging just 22.0 points per game and allowing an average of 33.8. The Lions on the other hand are averaging 35.2 points per game on the road, allowing just 23.0, and they are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 in Toronto. The point line is BC -3 and the Money Line is -155. Toronto is coming off a bye week so it could be close, leaning BC Money Line in this one.

The 4-4-0 Hamilton Tiger-Cats will travel west to square off with the 6-1-1 Calgary Stampeders. The Stamps are tough to beat at McMahon Stadium, where they are 3-0-0 and 2-1-0 ATS. On the road, the Cats are averaging 31.8 points per game and giving up 28.0. On the flip side, the Stamps are averaging 38.3 points per game at home and allowing 26.0. The numbers say Calgary should cover.

The #2 seed in the West, the British Columbia Lions play host the #1 seed, the Calgary Stampeders tonight at BC Place. On the road, the Stamps are 2-1-1, averaging 24.0 points per game and giving up just 18.5. The Lions are 2-1-0 at home, averaging 26.3 points per game but allowing an average of 27.0. Both quarterbacks have similar numbers, with the Stamps’ Bo Levi Mitchell throwing for 2,194 yards, with a 65.4% completion rate, 12 TDs and 4 INTs. The Lions’ Jonathon Jennings has thrown for 2,048 yards, with a 64.2% completion rate, 11 TDs and 5 INTs. Calgary is 11-4 ATS in their last 15 in BC, and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings overall. The best in the west, the Calgary Stampeders travel to Regina to take on the worst in the west, the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Calgary can light it up. They are averaging 32 points per game and allowing just 23.7. On the flip side, the Roughriders are averaging 21.3 points per game and allowing 35.7. Calgary in 6-0 ATS in the last 6 against a team with a losing record, 4-1 ATS in the last 5 overall and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings with the Roughriders. I’ll lay the 6 and take Calgary.
