Sunday NHL Pick

The Philadelphia Flyers take on the New York Rangers today at Madison Square Gardens. The Flyers’ road record is 11-12-3 and Rangers are 20-5-3 at home. Looking at the goalie matchup, Mason is expected in net for the Flyers, with a record of 13-14-7, while Lunqvist is expected for the Rangers with a record of 27-14-4. I’m siding with the Rangers today.

Today’s pick:

New York Rangers

Thursday NHL Pick

The Anaheim Ducks are coming off of an impressive win in Philadelphia Tuesday, beating the Flyers 4-1. The Ducks are on fire, going 7-1 in their last 8 games and 4-1 in their last 5 road games. Tonight they visit Columbus, who they beat on November 6th, 4-2. Columbus has been stale at home, over their last 7 games they’re 2-5. With Getzlaf heating up and the kid Rakell finding the back of the net, I’m siding with the Ducks.

Tonight’s pick:

Anaheim Ducks

Tuesday NHL Pick UPDATE

Calgary Flames just announced that 3 key players will be benched in tonight’s game for disciplinary reasons – Monahan, Gaudreau and Bouma. You might want to reconsider this one.

Tuesday NHL Pick

The Toronto Maple Leafs travel West tonight to take on the Calgary Flames at Scotia Bank Saddledome Arena. Toronto made a big trade today, sending five players to Ottawa including Dion Phaneuf and Matt Frattin. The Leafs are just 1-8 in their last 9 in Calgary. Between these two clubs, home teams usually prevail, going 16-5 in the last 21. Toronto should be a little unsettled tonight due to the trade.

Tonight’s pick:

Calgary Flames

Sunday NHL Pick

Montreal Canadiens snapped their losing streak yesterday by pummeling Edmonton Oilers 5-1. Winning is contagious. I think that carries over today when they play Carolina Hurricanes at home.

Today’s pick:

Montreal Canadiens

Friday NHL Pick

The Anaheim Ducks were an expected Stanley Cup contender at the beginning of 2015-2016 campaign and after a slow start they are finally living up to their potential. The Ducks are on fire, winning 5 straight, and 2 of them against their hated foes, the Los Angeles Kings and the San Jose Sharks. Ducks are 12-3-2 over their last 17 and are 4-1 in their last 5 at home. Tonight the Arizona Coyotes drag themselves into Honda Center after a tough overtime loss to Chicago last night. The Coyotes are just 2-7 in their last 9 games. Sticking with Ducks while they are hot!!!

Tonight’s pick:

Anaheim Ducks

Thursday NHL Pick

The Washington Capitals will be at full strength tonight when they host the New York Islanders. Alex Ovechkin returns tonight after serving his one game suspension for snubbing the all star game and Braden Holtby is expected between the pipes after having a day off on Tuesday. The Capitals are on a rare 2-game skid and the Islanders should be the cure for this. The Capitals are 6-3-1 in their last 10 versus New York, and the Islanders are just 1-5 in their last 6 at Verizon Center. Alex Ovechkin has faced the Islanders 38 times in his career and he has been spectacular, scoring 27 goals with 15 assists. Ovechkin should be hungry tonight. I like the Caps in this one.

Tonight’s pick:

Washington Capitals
