Wednesday NHL Pick

It looks as if the Anaheim Ducks have turned things around after a slow start to the season, and they will try to keep the momentum going when they travel to Columbus tonight to take on the Blue Jackets. The Ducks’ Ryan Getslaf looked sharp in his return to the line-up on Sunday by notching 3 assists in a victory over the Calgary Flames. Anaheim should have Hampus Lindholm back in the line-up tonight, which will help bolster the defense. On the flip side, Columbus will be without one of their top defensemen tonight, Seth Jones, due to a fracture to his right foot. I like the Ducks’ chances in this one.

Tuesday NHL Pick

The young phenom, Connor McDavid, will take his Edmonton Oilers into PPG Paints Arena tonight to face his idol, Sidney Crosby, and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Edmonton is off to a great start but has struggled in the past against Pittsburgh. The Oilers are 3-8 in their last 11 meetings with the Penguins and are 1-4 in their last 5 at the PPG. Matt Murray is expected between the pipes for Pittsburgh and he has been spectacular, owning a 2-0 record with a GAA of just 0.50 and a .985 SV%. The Penguins are 5-0-1 at home this season and they should get the win tonight.

Tonight’s pick:

Pittsburgh Penguins

Thursday NHL Pick

The New York Islanders are playing back-to-back games and will travel to PPG Paints Arena to take on Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Crosby looked sharp on Tuesday against Florida, after returning from a concussion, and found the back of the net in a Penguins 3-2 victory. The Islanders are 0-7 in their last 7 games against the Eastern Conference and they are 6-21 in their last 27 in Pittsburgh. The Penguins are 4-0-1-0 at home and will keep it rolling tonight.

Tonight’s pick:

Pittsburgh Penguins

Monday NHL Pick

The Montreal Canadiens are off to a blazing start for the 2016-2017 campaign and will try to keep it going tonight when host the Broad Street Bullies at Bell Centre. Carey Price is expected between the pipes for the Habs and he has been spectacular, with a 2-0-0 record, a GAA of 2.02 and a .920 SV%. The Flyers are expected to have Steve Mason in the crease and he has been mediocre at best, with a record of 1-2-1, a GAA of 3.35 and a SV% of .882. Philadelphia is 0-4 in their last 4 meetings in Montreal and the home team is 20-6 in the last 26 meetings between these two clubs. I like the Habs in this one.

Tonight’s pick:

Montreal Canadiens

Sunday NHL Pick – Stanley Cup Finals

The San Jose Sharks are not going down without a fight. The Penguins have trouble in SAP Center. They are 12-2-1 in the last 15 contests there and home teams are 15-6 in the last 21 meetings. The Sharks have turned it around at home. They are 8-2 in their last 10 home games. This is going back to Pittsburgh.

Tonight’s pick:

San Jose Sharks

Stanley Cup Pick – Game 1

The puck drops tonight in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals as the San Jose Sharks travel to Consol Energy Center to face the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Sharks have been electric and this is the year they get the monkey off their back.
Joe Pavelski has been delivering, finding the net 13 times thus far in the Playoffs, and Joe Thornton has been right there with 15 assists. Martin Jones has been stingy between the pipes for the Sharks, recording 3 shutouts in the last 7 games. The Sharks have a record of 17-5-1 in their last 23 meetings with Pittsburgh and who is better than the Sharks on the road? No one. I like the Sharks as a dog in game 1.

Today’s pick:

San Jose Sharks

Thursday NHL Pick

The Nashville Predators will try and win another game 7 on the road tonight but the San Jose Sharks will have something to say about that. The Sharks have been red hot at SAP Center, winning their last 4 and Nashville is just 7-22 in their last 29 in No Cal. The Sharks have the edge in Offense, Defense, Power Play, Penalty Kill, Face Offs, Discipline and Goaltending. San Jose packs for St. Louis in the morning.
