The Calgary Flames have trouble finding the back of the net and that was evident once again last night when they were blanked by the LA Kings, 0-2. Tonight they will be playing back-to-back games when they visit Honda Center and the Anaheim Ducks. The Flames had better bring their A-game because the Ducks are on a roll. Anaheim has won 4 straight and is 7-0 in their last 7 at the Pond. They were also off yesterday so they will be well-rested and on one day’s rest the Ducks are 6-0 in their last 6. Anaheim has won the last two meetings with Calgary and is hot. Ride them ’til they are not.
TONIGHT’S PICK: ANAHEIM DUCKS

The Seattle Kraken have lost their last two but should right the ship tonight when they host the worst team in hockey, the Vancouver Canucks. The Canucks are dead last in the league with only 43 pts, averaging just 2.53 goals per game and allowing the league’s worst 3.64. They are also 0-8 in their last 8 road games and just 1-7 in their last 8 overall. The Kraken have played well at home with a record of 14-9-5 and are 4-1 in their last 5 at Climate Pledge Arena. Seattle is holding their own in the Pacific division. They trail Edmonton by just 3 points for the third spot and are just 4 points behind Anaheim for the second spot so they cannot afford to lose at home to the inept Canucks if they want to keep pace and they know it.
TONIGHT’S PICK: SEATTLE KRAKEN

When the Anaheim Ducks take the ice at Honda Center good things happen and that is where they will be tonight when they host the Winnipeg Jets. The Ducks are 18-8-1 at the Pond and riding a 6-game win streak in their friendly confines. Winnipeg has not played well on the road, at 11-15-3, and fell to Anaheim in their last meeting on November 9th, 4-1. The Ducks at home are always worth considering.
TONIGHT’S PICK: ANAHEIM DUCKS

The New Jersey Devils have lost 4 straight, 6 of their last 7, and they will have their work cut out for them tonight when they head to PPG Paints Arena to face the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Devils have just 3 tallies over their last 4 losses and are dead last in the league in scoring, averaging just 2.48 goals per game. Pittsburgh has been playing well, winning 7 of their last 9, and they can score, averaging 3.41 goals per game. The Penguins beat the Devils in their last meeting on January 8th, 4-1, and have the edge in goals scored, goals allowed, power plays, etc., etc., etc.
TONIGHT’S PICK: PITTSBURGH PENGUINS

The Dallas Stars will go for their seventh straight win tonight when they host the Seattle Kraken. To say the Stars have owned the Kraken would be an understatement. Dallas has won nine straight against Seattle, has the edge in goals scored, goals against, and owns an impressive 16-7-3 record at American Airlines Center.
TONIGHT’S PICK: DALLAS STARS

The Anaheim Ducks will be at home at the Pond tonight to take on the struggling Vegas Golden Knights. Vegas has lost 4 straight and Anaheim is 15-8-1 at home. The Ducks are expected to have Lukáš Dostál between the pipes and he has good numbers with a 2.81 GAA and a .896 SV%.

The Tampa Bay Lighting had better be sleeping with one eye open because the Buffalo Sabres are just 5 points back of them for the top spot in the Atlantic. Tonight the Sabres will be in the friendly confines of KeyBank Center and will face the LA Kings. It will be a packed house once again with the best fans on the planet. The Sabres are 16-6-3 in Western New York and the Kings do play well on the road but Buff has the hot hand.
