The #4 San Diego State Aztecs should be ranked #1 but they’re not. They will take their perfect 25-0 record into Idaho today to face the Boise State Broncos. Are they going to fold? Not likely. The Aztecs already put the screws to the Broncs back on January 11th, blowing them out, 83-65, and with a defense that is relinquishing an average of just 58.4 points per game, forget about it.

When teams visit Dreamstyle Arena, or better known as the Pit, to face the New Mexico Lobos, the visitors rarely get out alive. Unfortunately for the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels, that is where they will be today. New Mexico is 14-1 at home and have been lighting up the scoreboard for the home crowd, averaging 84.5 points per game and allowing an average of 72.3. The Rebels stumble into this one losing 5 of their last 6 and are just 2-7 on the road, averaging 69.1 points per game and allowing an average of 77.1. As usual, the Lobos will get it done today at the Pit.

The Davidson Wildcats will be in Western New York tonight to take on the St. Bonaventure Bonnies, who have been on a roll. The Bonnies have won 5 in a row and are tough at home, where they are 7-3, averaging 68.1 points per game and surrendering just 58.8. The Wildcats’ road record is nothing to write home about at 3-6, where they are averaging 68.9 points per game and allowing an average of 72. Davidson has won the last 3 meetings with St. Bonaventure so it’s time for the Bonnies to buck the trend. With an electric crowd to back them at Reilly Center and their stingy defense, they should get the job done.

The Richmond Spiders will be in Philadelphia tonight for a meeting with the La Salle Explorers. The Spiders are by far the better team in this one. Richmond has the edge in points per game, field goal %, free throw %, defense, and turnovers. The Spiders cruised to an easy victory in their last meeting on January 22nd, 75-57, so why not again tonight?

The Gaels are a dismal 1-6 on the road, having lost 3 straight, and that doesn’t bode well when they have to face a Bobcats team team is 7-2 on their home court, where they have been averaging 75.2 points per game and allowing an average of 69.1. Iona is just 3-7 in conference play, averaging 61.7 points per game on the road and allowing an average of 77.6. This a good spot for a bounce back game for Quinn after they were lit up in their last outing by an inferior Niagara Purple Eagles team, 75-59.

The Maryland East Shore Hawks are winless on the road, at 0-15, and will be 0-16 after tonight’s meeting with the Delaware State Hornets.
