The Fairfield Stags will be a road dog when they play an early one today against the Iona Gaels. Fairfield has already proven they can beat Iona, winning the last meeting just a couple weeks ago, 68-64. The Stags also have the edge in points scored, 3-pointers, free throws, and are getting 6.5. Fairfield should at least get under the number.

It will be the battle of Western New York tonight when the Niagara Purple Eagles make the short trip to Buffalo to face the Canisius Golden Griffins. The 7-13 Purple Eagles have lost 5 straight but they have all been relatively close games and they should get the monkey off their back tonight. The Griffins are just 2-18 on the season, lost 2 straight, 8 of their last 10, and unlike Niagara they have not been close games at all. The Purple Eagles have won 7 of the last 10 meetings, average more points per game and give up less. The line is currently Niagara -3 and the hook with a money line of -170 and these games are usually hard-fought, so my advice is to consider Niagara on the money.

The Valparaiso Beacons have lost five straight but should get back on track tonight when they host the Southern Illinois Salukis. As the home team, the Beacons are 8-4, average more points per game than the Salukis and they have the edge in 3-pointers, rebounds, blocks, and are currently getting a point and a half.

The Cornell Big Red will be at Jadwin Gymnasium today to take on the Princeton Tigers. The Big Red is currently getting 4 and the hook. They should win or at least get under the number. Cornell is 6-2 as the away team and average 86.6 points per game; the Tigers average 77.1.

The Marist Red Foxes are in Niagara Falls tonight to take on the Niagara Purple Eagles. Marist is the better team offensively and defensively. Take them on the money line.

Two of the Mountain West elite will square off tonight when the New Mexico Lobos host the Boise State Broncos at the Pit. New Mexico is 14-4, 6-1 in conference play, and second in the Mountain West. Boise is right on their tail in the third spot at 13-5 and 5-2 in conference play. Teams do not like visiting the Pit. It puts fear in them and rightfully so. New Mexico has always had success there and this year is no different. The Lobos are 9-1 as the home team and are averaging 83.2 points per game vs. the Broncos’ 78.7. They also have the edge in 3-pointers, rebounds, blocks and steals. New Mexico, when at the Pit, is always worth a strong consideration. The line is currently Lobos -3.5 with a money line around -175.
