In an afternoon delight at Yuengling Arena in Tampa, the University of South Florida Bulls will be hosting their AAC rival, the Wichita State Shockers. As the home team, the Bulls are 9-2 and have won the last 2 meetings with the Shockers, including a 91-72 blowout on the Shockers’ home court just a few weeks ago. The Shockers are just 2-5 as the away team and have not been playing well, with just 2 wins in their last 9 tries. Consider the Bulls. The line is currently USF -1 with a money line of only -120 so it makes no sense to lay the point.

The Princeton Tigers will be laying 7 on the road against the Pennsylvania Quakers tonight and if they feel like covering the number they will. Princeton is 15-6, 5-1 as the away team, and 4-2 in conference play. Penn comes in at 6-13, 4-6 as the home team, and 2-4 in conference play. The Tigers always whack the Quakers (it’s a tradition) and tonight should be no different. They outscore them by a ton, give up less, are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 against a team with a home losing record, and I could go on.

The Sacred Heart Pioneers will be on their home court in Fairfield tonight to take on the Rider Broncs. Sacred Heart has won 3 straight and after tonight it should be 4. In conference play in the Metro Atlantic Athletic, the Pioneers are 5-5 and the Broncs are 4-7. Sacred Heart is averaging over 10 points per game more than Rider and also have the edge in 3-pointers, rebounds, and steals. Consider the home team in this one and lay the 5.

The 16-8 Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons will be hosting the 12-12 Wright State Raiders tonight in Fort Wayne. The Mastodons are currently laying 5.5 and they should be. PFW is #2 in the Horizon, 9-1 as the home team, and 9-4 in conference play. Wright State is #7 in the Horizon, 3-7 as the away team, and 6-7 in conference play. The Mastodons are a scoring machine, that’s a given, averaging 82.9 points per game and killing it on 3-pointers, hitting 39%. The Raiders average 76.9 points per game and when they face an opponent with a straight up winning record, they are 0-6-1 ATS over their last 7. PFW won the last meeting with Wright State, 120-113, and is 7-1 ATS in their last 8 as the favorite.
TONIGHT’S PICK: PURDUE FORT WAYNE MASTODONS -5½

The University of Alabama Birmingham Blazers will play host tonight to their AAC rival, the University of North Texas Mean Green. These teams match up well. Mean Green is in the second spot in the AAC and the Blazers are right on their tail in third, but the edge goes to UAB. They are 10-3 as the home team and can light it up, averaging 84.6 points per game. UAB has also won 2 straight and 7 of their last 8. Mean Green is averaging only 68.5 points per game but will offset that with a very stingy defense. They are 4-3 as the away team and lost their last outing to the UTSA Roadrunners, 54-50, who are not that good. The line is currently Blazers -1.5 with a money line of only -115 so why would you sweat the points?
TONIGHT’S PICK: UAB BLAZERS M/L

The Fairfield Stags will be a road dog when they play an early one today against the Iona Gaels. Fairfield has already proven they can beat Iona, winning the last meeting just a couple weeks ago, 68-64. The Stags also have the edge in points scored, 3-pointers, free throws, and are getting 6.5. Fairfield should at least get under the number.
TODAY’S PICK: FAIRFIELD STAGS +6½

It will be the battle of Western New York tonight when the Niagara Purple Eagles make the short trip to Buffalo to face the Canisius Golden Griffins. The 7-13 Purple Eagles have lost 5 straight but they have all been relatively close games and they should get the monkey off their back tonight. The Griffins are just 2-18 on the season, lost 2 straight, 8 of their last 10, and unlike Niagara they have not been close games at all. The Purple Eagles have won 7 of the last 10 meetings, average more points per game and give up less. The line is currently Niagara -3 and the hook with a money line of -170 and these games are usually hard-fought, so my advice is to consider Niagara on the money.
