The Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots have been in this situation before. New England was the victor back in 2015 winning Super Bowl XLIX (28-24). Seattle could have and should have won that game, but they didn’t. The Seahawks have not forgotten 2015 and will be extra-motivated to put the screws to Vrabel and company – and they should. The Patriots are lucky to be where they are. They had one of the weakest schedules in all of football and if Bo Nix played for Denver in the AFC Championship game, the Patriots would be at home watching. Seattle’s run defense is the best there is and their lethal pass rush is going to rattle the young Drake Maye. He will mistakes and when he does Seattle will pounce. The Seahawks got to this point by blowing out a really good San Francisco 49ers team and then knocking off the MVP Matthew Stafford’s LA Rams.

The Oilers have outscored their opponents 11-0 over their 2-game run and should take care of business tonight. The Devils have been inconsistent all year and have just 3 wins in their last 8 tries. The Oilers are third in the league in scoring, averaging 3.4 goals per game, and 12-6-4 on their home ice.

The Denver Broncos will host the Buffalo Bills in today’s AFC Divisional Playoff game. The Broncos had a Bye last week and will be well-rested, but beating Buffalo will be no easy task. The Bills have the best quarterback on the planet, Josh Allen. The reigning MVP has been in this situation many times before and can thread a defense not only with his arm but also his legs. The Bills are #1 in the league in rushing yards per game, thanks to James Cook, who is the NFL’s leading rusher. Ed Oliver is expected to return for Buffalo, and he is one of the top DTs in the league. Oliver will pressure the inexperienced Bo Nix, which will rattle him, and that will be a problem when he is facing the league’s best defense against the pass.

The Chicago Bears are getting no respect when they host their black and blue rival the Green Bay Packers in tonight’s NFC Wild Card game. The Bears are currently a 2-point home dog which will give them even more incentive to put the screws to their archrival. Chicago finished 11-6 on the season with Green Bay at 9-7-1. The Bears are catching a Packers team that has lost their last 4 and the absence of Micah Parsons on the defensive side obviously hurts. Caleb Williams has proven why the Bears made the right move when they picked him #1 overall in 2024. He has thrown for 3,942 yards with 27 TDs and only 7 INTs. Green Bay’s Jordan Love, who has thrown for 3,381 yards with 23 TDs and only 6 picks, will make it interesting but that won’t be enough. Chicago was 6-2 at Soldier Field this season and an impressive 10-6-1 ATS overall.

The NFC South will be on the line today when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the Carolina Panthers. The Bucs will be extra-motivated to take down their rival after falling to them 23-20 back on December 21st. Tampa has lost 4 straight and will not make it 5. Baker Mayfield is the most underrated QB in the NFL and will get the job done today.

The 10-4-0 Los Angeles Chargers are on a roll, winning 3 straight and 6 of their last 7. Today they will head to AT&T Stadium to face Dak Prescott and the 6-7-1 Dallas Cowboys. The Bolts’ Justin Hebert should have a big day today against a Cowboys defense that is ranked 32nd in the league against the pass. With a win today, and a loss by the Indianapolis Colts or Houston Texans, the Chargers clinch a playoff spot so they will be extra motivated to put the screws to the Boys who are eliminated from playoff contention.
