There will be a Black and Blue Division matchup today at Ford Field when the Detroit Lions host the Minnesota Vikings. Detroit might be 5-7 on the season but they are a lot better than their record reflects. The Lions are coming off a 40-14 pummeling of the Jacksonville Jaguars and have won 4 of their last 5 with their only loss to the hands of the best team in football, the Buffalo Bills, in a close one, 28-25. Minnesota is 10-2 but I am still not sold on them. They have a defense that is shaky at best and Jared Goff should expose that today. Goff has thrown for 3,022 yards with 19 TDs and the Lions are averaging 369.1 yards per game.

The Buffalo Bills are a slight favorite tonight when they visit the New England Patriots. The Bills have Josh Allen, who has 3,183 yards (which is scary) as opposed to Mac Jones with 1,768 yards. Who are you going to consider? Common sense says Buff.

The Cleveland Browns will be getting 3½ points today when they host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Browns went toe to toe with the best team in football, the Buffalo Bills, in their last outing and all they need to do today is feed Nick Chubb to get under the number. Chubb is the best back in the business, with 923 yards on 174 carries, which equates to 5.3 yards per carry. Forget about it.

The New England Patriots are currently getting 2½ points when they visit the Minnesota Vikings tonight. The Pats have the edge by far, in coaching as well as defense. New England is allowing just 302.8 yards per game and that will be the difference maker.
TONIGHT’S PICK: NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS +2½

The Chicago Bears will be in Atlanta today to face the Falcons. Both teams are not going to the post-season and that’s a given, but one of them will cover the number and I’m leaning to the underdog Bears. Chicago is currently getting 3. They average more points per game and give up less than Atlanta. The Bears average 329.8 yards on offense as opposed to the Falcons 317.2 and are much better on defense, surrendering an average of 345.4 yards as opposed to the Falcons 399.5. Chicago is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings and the underdog is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings.

The Green Bay Packers will be a home dog today when they host the Dallas Cowboys. The Packers are due for a win, after losing 5 in a row, and are 4-1 in their last 5 against the Cowboys. Dak Prescott will have a hard time against Green Bay’s pass defense, which is allowing a stingy 170.6 yards per game.
TODAY’S PICK: GREEN BAY PACKERS +4

The 4-2 New York Jets are currently a slight favorite today when they visit Mile High for a matchup with the 2-4 Denver Broncos. Denver will be playing on a short week after losing to the LA Chargers on Monday and have now lost three straight. The Broncos offense is inept to say the least, averaging just 15.7 points per game, and they will be without starting quarterback Russell Wilson who is sidelined with a hamstring issue. The Jets are 3-0 on the road, are averaging 23.8 points per game, and are coming off an impressive 27-10 win over the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.
