Sunday Men’s NCAA Basketball Pick

The Cleveland State Vikings will be hosting their Horizon foe, the Northern Kentucky Norse today in a matinée at Wolstein Center. Both teams are clicking. The Vikes have won 3 straight and are 7-3 in their last 10, with the Norse winning their last 2 and they have also won 7 of their last 10. When these two teams meet, it’s always a toe-to-toe battle, with the home team usually coming out on top. With that said, the Norse are just 4-5 on the road and the Vikings are 11-3 in Cleveland.
TODAY’S PICK: CLEVELAND STATE VIKINGS M/L

Saturday NHL Pick

After a successful 2-game road trip, the Boston Bruins return home tonight to host the New York Islanders. The Bruins are having a season that will go down in hockey history. They are 41-8-5 overall and 22-2-3 at TD Garden – and that is scary. The Islanders, who are 28-23-7 and 11-13-4 on the road, will be playing back-to-back games after a tough battle with the Penguins last night and now they have to face the best team in hockey on the road. Good luck. With a win tonight, the Bruins will complete a season sweep of the Islanders and should see the return of winger Jake DeBrusk, who will add another weapon to their already lethal offense.
TONIGHT’S PICK: BOSTON BRUINS

Friday Men’s NCAA Basketball Pick

The Niagara Purple Eagles will be a road dog tonight when they visit the Mount Saint Mary’s Mountaineers. The Mountaineers are just 3-8 on their home court, have lost 2 straight and 5 of their last 6. The Purple Eagles are 5-1 in their last 6, beat the Mountaineers convincingly, 67-55, on New Year’s Eve and are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games.
TONIGHT’S PICK: NIAGARA PURPLE EAGLES +1½

Thursday NHL Pick

The Winnipeg Jets will be extra motivated tonight when they visit the Columbus Blue Jackets. Winnipeg is just 2 points behind Dallas for the top spot in the Central Division so they need to take care of business against the bottom feeding Columbus Blue Jackets. The Blue Jackets are just 1-5 in their last 6 overall and 1-6 in their last 7 at Nationwide Arena. The Jets are on a 3-game winning streak, score more than the Blue Jackets and give up less.
TONIGHT’S PICK: WINNIPEG JETS

Wednesday NHL Pick

After winning five in a row, the Buffalo Sabres have done a 180o, losers of their last four, but I expect their fortunes will change tonight when they visit the Anaheim Ducks. The Ducks are having a season they would like to forget. They are dead last in the Pacific,17-31-6 overall, and 9-14-1 at home. The Sabres are 26-22-4 overall and have played well on the road with a record of 15-8-2. Buffalo last faced Anaheim at KeyBank Center in January, winning easily, 6-3, and are 4-1 in their last 5 trips to the Pond.
TONIGHT’S PICK: BUFFALO SABRES

Tuesday NHL Pick

The New Jersey Devils will travel to Nationwide Arena tonight for a meeting with the inept Columbus Blue Jackets. The Jackets are the worst team in hockey with a record of 16-33-4 and are 11-16-2 at home. The Devils are just 3 points back of Carolina for the top spot in the Metropolitan Division, with a record of 34-13-5. New Jersey is better on the road than they are at the Rock, with a road record of 19-3-3, and last faced Columbus back in October, blowing them out 7-1. The Devils will be without Jack Hughes tonight but it shouldn’t matter.
TONIGHT’S PICK: NEW JERSEY DEVILS

Monday NHL Pick

The Arizona Coyotes will wrap up their 3-game road trip tonight when they visit the Nashville Predators. The Coyotes will be playing their third game in four nights so fatigue could be an issue for them. Arizona has lost their last 2, are 3-6 in their last 9, and have been awful on the road with a record of 6-20-6. Nashville is starting to heat up. The Predators are 4-1 in their last 5 and are always tough on opponents at Bridgestone Arena, where they are 14-8-3. The Predators are breathing down Minnesota’s neck for the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference. Nashville cannot afford to lose at home to a bottom feeder like Arizona and they know it.
TONIGHT’S PICK: NASHVILLE PREDATORS
