The Philadelphia Flyers will be on their home ice tonight when they host the struggling Nashville Predators. The Predators have lost 2 straight, 6 of their last 8, and are 1-2-1 on the road. The Broad Street Bullies are clicking. They have won 2 straight, 4 of their last 5, and are 5-1-0 at Xfinity Mobile Arena. The Flyers score more than the Predators, give up a lot less, and should come out on top tonight.
TONIGHT’S PICK: PHILADELPHIA FLYERS
Wednesday MLB Pick
The Los Angeles Dodgers fell to the Toronto Blue Jays last night, 6-2, and now the series is knotted up at two apiece. Tonight the Dodgers cannot afford to lose at Chavez Ravine with the next two games in Toronto or it’s over and they know it. It’s as simple as that.
TONIGHT’S PICK: LOS ANGELES DODGERS
Tuesday NHL Pick
The New Jersey Devils will go for their ninth straight win when they head to Ball Arena tonight for a meeting with the Colorado Avalanche, but they have a problem. The Avalanche have lost 4 straight, are due for a win, and are tough at home. Colorado is 2-0-2 in the mountains and matches up well with New Jersey. The Avs average 3.3 goals per game and allow an average of 2.4. The Devils average 3.89 goals per game and allow an average of 2.44. Altitude does play a factor on teams that visit Ball Arena and that will be evident tonight.
TONIGHT’S PICK: COLORADO AVALANCHE
Monday MLB Pick
The Los Angeles Dodgers will have momentum on their side when the World Series switches to Chavez Ravine for the next 3 games. The Dodgers looked impressive in Game 2 with their 5-1 victory over Toronto and now have the Jays just where they want them on their home turf. The Dodgers have dominated at the Stadium all year, with a record of 57-30 including the postseason, and they will have Tyler Glasnow toeing the rubber. Glasnow has been in the zone. In 13.1 innings of work this postseason, he has an ERA of only 0.68, a 1.12 WHIP, and Los Angeles is 6-0 in his last 6 starts. You take the Jays out of Toronto, and they are not that impressive. Toronto is a mediocre 43-43, including the postseason, away from Rogers Centre. The Jays will give the nod to the 41-year-old Max Scherzer and the Dodgers lethal bats will be able to get to him. In 5.1 innings of work this postseason, Scherzer has a 3.18 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP.
TONIGHT’S PICK: LOS ANGELES DODGERS
Sunday NHL Pick
With last night’s 6-2 win over the Minnesota Wild, the Utah Mammoth have now won 6 straight but that streak could end tonight when they head north of the border to face the Winnipeg Jets. The Jets have also been on a roll, winning 6 of their last 7, and when they take the ice at Canada Life Centre they always step it up a notch. Winnipeg was idle yesterday and will be well rested. Utah on the other hand will be playing back-to-back games and in that situation they are just 2-7 in their last 9.
TONIGHT’S PICK: WINNIPEG JETS
Saturday NCAA Football Pick
The Cincinnati Bearcats will be at the friendly confines of Nippert Stadium this afternoon when they take on their Big 12 rival, the Baylor Bears. The Bearcats are 6-1 and a perfect 4-0 in conference play. The Bears come in at 4-3 and 2-2 in conference play. Both of these teams can light up the scoreboard but the difference maker in this one will be the defense. Cincinnati is allowing a stingy 18.9 points per game while Baylor is allowing an average of 31.4. The Bearcats have won 6 straight, are coming off a 49-17 blowout win over Oklahoma State last week and will have 40,000 fans on their side. Depending on where you do your shopping, the line is currently floating around Cincinnati – 3.5. Don’t get burned by the hook and consider the Bearcats on the money line.
TODAY’S PICK: CINCINNATI BEARCATS M/L
Friday MLB Pick
The Toronto Blue Jays will have their hands full when they host the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight in Game 1 of the World Series. The Dodgers made it look easy to get to this point by sweeping the Milwaukee Brewers, easily dismantling the Philadelphia Phillies, and also sweeping the Cincinnati Reds. LA is expected to give the nod to southpaw Blake Snell and he has been almost unhittable this postseason. Snell is 3-0 with a nasty ERA of 0.86 and a WHIP barely visible at 0.52. He last faced Toronto back in August, pitching 5 scoreless innings and the Dodgers went on to a 9-1 rout. Toronto had to fight and scratch to get to the Finals and are expected to have the rookie, Trey Yesavage, on the hill. Yesavage was 2-1 in the postseason with an elevated 4.20 ERA, a 1.07 WHIP, and has never face the likes of Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and the list goes on. Good luck Toronto, you are going to need it.
