The Detroit Tigers will have their hands full when they travel to Target Field tonight to open a 3-game set with the Minnesota Twins. The Twins return home after a successful road trip where they won 5 of 6 and this team is a legitimate contender. They are first in the Central and swept the Tigers back in April, outscoring them 17-5 over their 3-game series. Chris Archer is expected to be on the hill for Minnesota and he can still get it done. Detroit has been back and forth with their expected starter and whether it’s Beau Brieske or Elvin Rodriguez doesn’t matter, the Twins will have a field day with either one these guys.

The Florida Panthers are in trouble, down two games to the Tampa Bay Lightning, and tonight it won’t get any easier when they travel to Amalie Arena. The Panthers are 1-4 in their last 5 meetings with the Bolts and 8-21 in their last 29 in Tampa. Consider the Champs.

Friday MLB Pick
The New York Yankees return home to the Bronx tonight to take on the Chicago White Sox. The expected starters are Nestor Cortés Jr. for the Yanks and southpaw Dallas Keuchel for the White Sox. New York took 3 of 4 from Chicago on the south side just last week and Nasty Nestor did his part. Cortés is 2-1 with an ERA of only 1.35, a 0.85 WHIP, and on May 15th he held the White Sox to just 1 run on 3 hits resulting in a 5-1 Yankees win. Keuchel is a far cry from what he once was. He is 2-3 with an elevated ERA of 5.54, a 1.92 WHIP, and the Yanks feast on left-handed starters.

Wednesday MLB Pick
The New York Yankees’ dominance continued last night, after they knocked off the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards, 5-4, and took the first two games of their 4-game set. With last night’s win, New York improved to 27-9, which is the best record in the Majors. Expect more of the same tonight when Gerrit Cole takes the hill for the visitors. Cole is 3-0 with a 2.95 ERA and the Yanks are 5-0 in his last 5 starts. Jordan Lyles will take the mound for the 14-23 Orioles. Lyles is 2-3 with a 4.38 ERA. He was lit up the last time he faced New York on April 26th, yielding 6 runs on 7 hits over 4-2/3 innings of work and the Yankees went on to win, 12-8. The Bombers have won 5 straight against the Orioles and after tonight it will be 6.

The Los Angeles Angels took 3 of 4 from the Oakland Athletics over the weekend and tonight they will be in Arlington to face the Texas Rangers. The 14-19 Rangers are better on the road then at home where they are just 7-12. They are expected to send Jon Gray the the rubber, who is 0-1 with a 5.51 ERA, a 1.22 WHIP, and if he is not on his mark, God’s Gift and company will jump all over him. The 24-13 Angels are 12-6 on the road and are expected to have Noah Syndergaard on the hill. Thor has been delivering. He is 3-1 with a 2.46 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP. Los Angeles won 3 of 4 against Texas at Globe Life Field back in April and are 4-0 in their last 4 as a road favorite. The Angels are the better team, 1-9, and should take care of business tonight.
