The Buffalo Bills seemed to be the team to beat, not only in the AFC but in the NFL, but things have changed. Buffalo has lost 3 of their last 5 and were humiliated at home by the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday in a Keystone Cops-like performance which now has them half a game back of the New England Patriots for the top spot in the East. Weather did play a part in last week’s thumping but that will not be a factor tonight when they take on the New Orleans Saints in the Superdome. The Saints have issues of their own, dropping 3 straight, and have been riddled with injuries. Not only are they without starting QB Jameis Winston, they are likely to be without starting running back Alvin Kamara once again and backup Mark Ingram II, and that’s good for Buff who can’t seem to stop the run. Regardless of their lackluster play of late, the Buffalo Bills are one of the premiere teams in the league and have Josh Allen at the helm, who cannot only deliver through the air, he can run the ball as well. Buffalo is a resilient team. They are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 following an ATS loss and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 on the road. The Bills cannot afford to lose this game and they know it because up next are the New England Patriots followed be the Tampa Bay Bucs. The number is climbing and now Buffalo is 6½. Consider laying it.
TONIGHT’S PICK: BUFFALO BILLS -6½
Wednesday NHL Pick
The Seattle Kraken finally snapped their 6-game losing streak with an impressive 5-2 win at home over the Washington Capitals on Sunday. If they want to make it two in a row, they had better be on their A-game tonight because the Metropolitan-leading Carolina Hurricanes come to town and they are not happy after losing in OT to the San Jose Sharks on Monday. The 14-2-1-0 Canes should be too much for the upstart Krakens to handle, who are just 1-4 in their last 5 at home and 1-4 in their last 5 following a win.
TONIGHT’S PICK: CAROLINA HURRICANES
Tuesday NCAA Football Pick
The Buffalo Bulls will look to snap their 3-game losing streak tonight when they visit the Ball State Cardinals. Both of these teams are not the elite of the Mac, but Buffalo looked impressive last week when they went toe-to-toe against one of the best teams in the conference, the Northern Illinois Huskies. The Cardinals have been on the skids as well, losing two straight and have a weak run defense, and that will be a problem. The Bulls can run the ball, averaging 199.1 yards per game, and can score, averaging 31.6 points per game. Buffalo is currently getting 6½ in this one and the dog is 6-0 ATS in the last 6 meetings.
TONIGHT’S PICK: BUFFALO BULLS +6½
Monday NHL Pick
After losing their last two on the road, the Winnipeg Jets will look to right the ship when they return home tonight to face the Pittsburgh Penguins. Pittsburgh is riding a 2-game winning streak but those wins were against Eastern Conference foes and they have not fared so well against the West, going 0-4 in their last 4. Winnipeg has not been getting it done on the road, but at home they have been a force, as usual, where they are 7-1-0-1. The Jets are very aware of their road shortcomings and will be extra motivated to notch a win tonight before once again taking it on the arches, heading to Columbus on Wednesday.
TONIGHT’S PICK: WINNIPEG JETS
Sunday NFL Pick
Cam Newton will be at the helm today when the Carolina Panthers host the Washington Football Team so you know Bank of America Stadium will be electric. Newton does make a difference and that was evident last week when Carolina went to the desert and knocked off one of the best teams in football, the Arizona Cardinals. Washington had a rare win last week against a really good Tampa Bay team but even Brady and the Bucs can have an off day. The WFT is just 1-3 on the road, 3-6 overall, and will have to face Cam Newton and a healthy Christian McCaffrey without one of their best defensive players, Chase Young. Good luck.
TODAY’S PICK: CAROLINA PANTHERS M/L
Saturday NCAA Football Pick
The 7-3 Kansas State Wildcats’ 4-game winning streak will be on the line today when they host the 8-2 Baylor Bears. Not only have the Bears won the last three meetings with K State, they will be pumped after knocking off Oklahoma last week, 27-14, a team the Wildcats lost to on October 2nd. Baylor is averaging 453.9 yards per game on offense and has one of the best running attacks in the nation, averaging 237.8 yards per game. The Bears are 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games as a road dog and the Wildcats are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 games against teams with a winning record.
TODAY’S PICK: BAYLOR BEARS +2
Friday NHL Pick
Despite a shootout loss to the Edmonton Oilers last night, the 9-3-2-2 Winnipeg Jets remain tied with the Minnesota Wild for the Central Division lead. Tonight they should get back on track when they visit the lowly Vancouver Canucks. The 5-10-1-1 Canucks have lost 5 straight, 9 of their last 11, and have not had much success against the Jets. They are 6-20 in the last 26 meetings overall and 0-8 in the last 8 meetings at Rogers Arena.
TONIGHT’S PICK: WINNIPEG JETS
