The Central Michigan Chippewas will be a home dog tonight when they take on their state rival, the Western Michigan Broncos. Both teams are 2-0 and 2-0 ATS. Their offenses are similar with the Broncos averaging 460.5 yards per game and the Chippewa’s at 430 but the difference maker in this contest is Central Michigan’s defense. The Chippewas defense is holding teams to an average of just 294.5 yards per game as opposed to the Broncos 378.5 and they have been stingy against the run, allowing an average of only 92 yards per game. Central Michigan is getting 1.5 points tonight and are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 home games. Consider the Chips and the points. Update: The line has flipped and is currently Central Michigan -1, still worth consideration.
TONIGHT’S PICK: CENTRAL MICHIGAN CHIPPEWAS +1.5
Tuesday NCAA Football Pick
The Kent State Golden Flashes will be laying 27 points at home tonight over the Akron Zips and are they up to the task? Absolutely. The bottom-feeding Zips are 0-2. They have scored just 23 points in their first two games and have allowed a total of 82 points. Kent State is one of the elite teams in the MAC. The Golden Flashes are 2-0 and have scored a total of 89 points in their first two wins, scorching Bowling Green, 62-24, and knocking off Eastern Michigan, 27-23. Next up, Kent State will travel to Western New York to take on the Buffalo Bulls. The Bulls are currently 2-0 and after tonight they will be 3-0. The Flashes will want to send them a message.
TONIGHT’S PICK: KENT STATE GOLDEN FLASHES -27
Monday NFL Pick
Two black and blue division foes will square off tonight when the 5-4 Chicago Bears host the 3-5 Minnesota Vikings. Chicago has lost 3 straight and need to get back on track in a hurry. A visit from Minnesota just might be the answer. To say the Bears have been dominating the Vikes of late would be an understatement. They have won 4 straight against Minnesota and are 14-3 in their last 17 meetings against them at Soldier Field. Chicago will have a Bye next week but after that they will travel to Green Bay to face the Packers so if they want to stay in contention for a postseason berth they have to win this game and they know it. Chicago is a home dog tonight, getting 3.5 points, and are worth considering.
TONIGHT’S PICK: CHICAGO BEARS +3.5
Sunday NFL Pick
After last week’s embarrassing 38-3 defeat at home to the New Orleans Saints, Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be eager to get back on track today when they visit the Carolina Panthers. Brady threw 3 interceptions last week, something he has not done in 9 years, but don’t expect a repeat of that today. The only way you get to Brady is to pressure him and the Panthers do not have that ability. They are ranked last in the League with just 9 sacks and when Brady has time he will thread the needle. Carolina has been on a downward slide, losing 4 straight, and are 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 home games. Bucs get back on track and cover the 6.
TODAY’S PICK: TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS -6
Saturday NCAA Football Pick
After last week’s loss to the San Jose State Spartans where they were a big favorite, the 2-1 San Diego State Aztecs will be focused and ready to redeem themselves today when they host the 2-1 Hawaii Rainbow Warriors. Hawaii’s offense will be up against a San Diego defense that is allowing an average of only 233 yards per game so they had better be clicking on every cylinder. The Aztecs have scored 100 points in their first 3 games and will be able to move the ball against a Rainbow Warriors defense that is mediocre at best. San Diego is 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 against Hawaii and cover the 10 today.
TODAY’S PICK: SAN DIEGO STATE AZTECS -10
Friday NCAA Football Pick
The 1-5 East Carolina Pirates do not stand a chance tonight when they visit the 6-0 Cincinnati Bearcats. The Bearcats have outscored their opponents this year by a staggering 236-70. They are 18-0 in their last 18 home games and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 against the Pirates in Cincinnati. The line is Bearcats – 28 and if they want to cover the number, they will.
TONIGHT’S PICK: CINCINNATI BEARCATS -28
Thursday NFL Pick
With a win tonight against the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium, the Indianapolis Colts will move into a tie with the Titans for the top spot in the AFC South. The Colts defense is very stingy, allowing an average of just 290 yards per game and should be able to contain Derrick Henry and Ryan Tannehill. Philip Rivers will get wide receiver T. Y. Hilton back in the lineup tonight, which is not good for a questionable Titans secondary. Indy is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 in Tennessee and 13-4 ATS in the last 17 meetings. The line is currently even but will probably move. Regardless where it lands, consider the Colts.
TONIGHT’S PICK: INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
