Tuesday NHL Pick

If the Buffalo Sabres don’t take care of business tonight at home against the lowly Detroit Red Wings, things have to change, like a new owner, GM, coach, etc., etc., etc… Buffalo fell to Detroit at KeyBank last week, 4-3, so payback is due. The Red Wings have just 5 wins on the road and the Sabres are a respectable 15-10-4 in Western New York.
TONIGHT’S PICK: BUFFALO SABRES

Monday NHL Pick

Two teams heading in opposite directions, the Montreal Canadiens and the Arizona Coyotes, will meet north of the border tonight at Centre Bell. The Coyotes are spiraling out of control and the once dominant force in the West has now lost 2 in a row and 8 of their last 10. The Habs, on the other hand, are surging. They have won 3 straight, 5 of their last 6, and are just 6 points back of the second Wild Card spot. Head-to-head, Montreal has had the upper hand winning the last 3 meetings including a 4-1 victory on October 30th in the desert.
TONIGHT’S PICK: MONTREAL CANADIENS

Sunday NHL Pick

The best team in hockey, the Boston Bruins, will take their 6-game winning streak to the Motor City today for a matinée against the worst team in hockey, the Detroit Red Wings. This sounds like a slam dunk but not so fast. Detroit has won the last 4 meetings with Boston so it should be interesting, however the Bruins will prevail. If you don’t mind laying heavy chalk, consider Boston.
TODAY’S PICK: BOSTON BRUINS

Saturday NHL Pick

The Philadelphia Flyers are licking their wounds after being humiliated at home by the New Jersey Devils on Thursday, 5-0. Unfortunately, they won’t have time to heal because they will have to travel to Washington today to face the red hot Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals. Ovi has been off the charts, notching 14 goals in his last 7 games, and is just 2 shy of 700. The Flyers are a force at home but on the road they are 11-13-3. Capital One Arena will be electric tonight and the Caps will have payback on their minds after falling to the Flyers, 3-2, on January 8th. Washington has won 5 of the last 6 meetings and as usual, are tough at home, with a mark of 16-7-4.
TONIGHT’S PICK: WASHINGTON CAPITALS

Friday Men’s NCAA Basketball Pick

The Iona Gaels who are ranked #11 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference will be on the road to face #3 ranked Quinnipiac Bobcats in Hamden, Connecticut. The Gaels are a dismal 1-6 on the road, having lost 3 straight, and that doesn’t bode well when they have to face a Bobcats team team is 7-2 on their home court, where they have been averaging 75.2 points per game and allowing an average of 69.1. Iona is just 3-7 in conference play, averaging 61.7 points per game on the road and allowing an average of 77.6. This a good spot for a bounce back game for Quinn after they were lit up in their last outing by an inferior Niagara Purple Eagles team, 75-59.
TONIGHT’S PICK: QUINNIPIAC BOBCATS M/L

Thursday NHL Pick

When the Philadelphia Flyers take the ice at Wells Fargo Center good things happen. They win. Philadelphia is an impressive 18-4-4 at home and tonight they will be hosting a New Jersey Devils team that has lost 3 straight, 6 of their last 7, and are dead last in the Metropolitan Division. Next up for Philadelphia are the Washington Capitals on Saturday, so if they stay focused and don’t overlook this one, they cruise to an easy victory.
TONIGHT’S PICK: PHILADELPHIA FLYERS
