The Vancouver Canucks will need all the luck they can get when they visit the strip today for a matinée with the Vegas Golden Knights. The Canucks have lost 2 in a row. They are a dismal 13-17-5 on the road and will face a Vegas team that is on a roll. The Golden Knights are 19-10-4 at home and, since acquiring Mark Stone from Ottawa, they have won 3 straight. The Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons came up lame in their last home stand, falling to the North Dakota Fighting Hawks, 82-88, in a game where they were heavily favored and should have won easily. Today they will have a chance to redeem themselves in front of the home crowd when they host the North Dakota State Bison. Despite their last home loss, the Mastodons are still a good bet when they take the court at Hilliard Gates Sports Center. PFW is 11-4 at home, where they light up the scoreboard, averaging 83.1 points per game, allowing an average of 76.7, and are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 at home. NDS comes into today’s game just 3-9 on the road, averaging 65.3 points per game and allowing an average of 77.5. The Bison are 5-17 ATS in the last 22 meetings with the Mastodons and 2-9 ATS in their last 11 trips to Purdue Fort Wayne. The Mastodons will be laying 4.5 and should cover the number.
TODAY’S PICK: FORT WAYNE MASTODONS -4.5

Two hot teams will butt heads tonight when the St. Louis Blues pay a visit to PNC Arena for a match-up with the Carolina Hurricanes. Carolina is 8-2 in their last 10, have won 3 straight, and are coming off a 6-1 trouncing of the Los Angeles Kings in their last outing. The San Antonio Spurs are in a funk, losing 6 of their last 7 games, including a 130-118 loss last night to the lowly New York Knicks. Tonight they will make the short trip to Barclays Center for a matchup with the Brooklyn Nets. Brooklyn will be laying 2 points in this one and have been getting it done at home, where they are 14-4 in their last 18. The Nets should cover the number but consider the money line at only -130.
