Saturday NHL Pick

In 1996 the Winnipeg Jets packed up and moved to Arizona to become the Phoenix Coyotes and, believe me, the passionate Jets fans have not forgotten. Today, in a matinée, they will be able to voice their dislike for the Coyotes when the now-named Arizona Coyotes visit Bell MTS Place. The Coyotes are not the push over they were a year ago and are 2-2-0-0 on the road but they will face a team that always performs on their home ice. The Jets are 3-0-1-0 at home on the season and 46-14 in their last 60 at Bell MTS Place. To say the Jets have dominated the Coyotes would be an understatement. They are 13-3 in their last 16 meetings with Arizona and 9-0 in their last 9 against them at home.
TODAY’S PICK: WINNIPEG JETS

Friday CFL Pick

Two East Division foes will clash tonight when the Hamilton Tiger-Cats travel to TD Place Stadium to take on the Ottawa Redblacks. Both teams are at 8-7, with Hamilton averaging 29.4 points per game and allowing an average of 24.1 and Ottawa averaging 25.0 points per game and giving up an average of 24.5. The Tiger-Cats cover on the road, going 10-3-1 ATS in their last 14, and they are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 against the East. The Redblacks have not been covering the number at home. They are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games, and in Friday games, they are 1-4 ATS in their last 5. Ottawa won the first meeting this year on Tiger-Cat turf so there is extra incentive here for the Cats to put the screws to the Redblacks in front of their home crowd. Hamilton is laying 1.5 and should cover the number but with a money line of just -125, why sweat the hook?
TONIGHT’S PICK: HAMILTON TIGER-CATS M/L

Thursday NCAA Football Pick

The Arizona State Sun Devils will be an underdog tonight when they put their unbeaten home record on the line against the Stanford Cardinal. Arizona State is 3-0 at Sun Devil Stadium, where they are averaging 39.0 points per game and allowing an average of just 14.7. Stanford is 1-1 on the road, where they are averaging 27.5 points per game and allowing an average of 34.5. Arizona State is 4-2 ATS on the season and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games at Sun Devil Stadium. Consider the home team and the points in this one.
TONIGHT’S PICK: ARIZONA STATE SUN DEVILS +2.5

Wednesday NHL Pick

Despite being plagued by injuries, the Anaheim Ducks are finding a way to win and are on top of the Pacific Division with a record of 4-1-0-1. Anaheim will host the New York Islanders tonight and should have their captain, Ryan Getzlaf, back on the ice after he missed the last four games with a groin injury. The Ducks are always tough at home, going 19-7 in their last 26 at Honda Center. Anaheim has won the last two meetings with the Islanders and New York is just 4-9 in their last 13 road games.
TONIGHT’S PICK: ANAHEIM DUCKS

Tuesday MLB Pick

The Los Angeles Dodgers find themselves down 2-1 to the Milwaukee Brewers and to say that tonight is a “must win” for the Dodgers is an understatement. The Dodgers are expected to send Rich Hill to the rubber to try to even the score. The veteran southpaw had a productive year with a record of 11-5, a 3.66 ERA, and a 1.12 WHIP. In the 2018 campaign, Hill went 1-0 against the Brewers, with an ERA of only 1.50 and struck out 13 batters. The Brewers are expected to counter with Gio González. His numbers in the regular season were mediocre at 10-11, with a 4.21 ERA, and a 1.44 WHIP. Manny Machado went yard against González in Game 1 and Counsell elected to yank him after just two innings of work. Los Angeles had their chances last night, going 0-10 with runners in scoring positions and had loaded bases in the ninth, however, they couldn’t bring anybody in, thanks to Yasmani Grandal’s and Brian Dozier’s strikeouts. Rich Hill won’t have to worry about passed balls tonight because Dave Roberts finally woke up and decided to bench their struggling catcher for Austin Barnes. The Dodgers have to win this game or a World Series berth looks really bleak, and they know it.
TONIGHT’S PICK: LOS ANGELES DODGERS

Monday MLB Pick

Thanks to Justin Turner’s blast on Saturday, the Los Angeles Dodgers were able to even the score with the Milwaukee Brewers and walk away from Miller Park with a split. Tonight the venue switches to Chavez Ravine for Game 3 of the NLCS. The Dodgers are expected to turn to their rookie flame thrower, Walker Buehler. The young upstart had a stellar year, going 8-5 in the regular season with a 2.62 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP. He did have a hiccup in Game 3 of the NLDS against the Braves but, in his last 12 regular season starts, he had an ERA of 1.55 and held batters to an average of .158. Now that is dominance. The Brewers are expected to counter with Jhoulys Chacín. Chacín went 15-8 in the regular season, with a 3.50 ERA, a 1.16 WHIP, and was dominant against the Rockies in his last turn, pitching 5 scoreless innings. However, Chacín took the loss in his last start at Dodger Stadium when the Dodgers steamrolled the Brewers, 21-5. The Dodgers are 4-1 in Buehler’s last 5 home starts and 8-2 in their last 10 playoff games at the Ravine. Dodgers get it done.
TONIGHT’S PICK: LOS ANGELES DODGERS

Sunday MLB Pick

The Boston Red Sox cannot go down two games to the World Champs or they are in major trouble and they know it. Justin Verlander was on his game last night in the 7-2 Astros victory and it won’t get any easier tonight for Boston because Houston will have Gerrit Cole tapping the rubber. Cole has been delivering all year, with a regular season record of 15-5, a 2.88 ERA, and he is 2-1 lifetime against the Red Sox with a 4.32 ERA, but is 0-1 in his career with a 5.73 ERA in two starts at Fenway. Boston is expected to counter with David Price. Price’s post-season track record is well documented and it is not good but this guy is a top shelf pitcher. Price was 16-7 in the regular season, with a 3.58 ERA, and Boston is 20-6 in his last 26 starts at Fenway. Price has pitched well against Houston in his career, with a record of 6-2 and an ERA of 2.69. If he pitches a gem tonight, which he is capable of doing, Boston heads to Houston with a split.
TONIGHT’S PICK: BOSTON RED SOX
