Sunday MLB Pick

The San Francisco Giants will go for their fourth straight win today against the Colorado Rockies at Oracle Park, and they will get it. Jordan Hicks is on the hill for SF and this guy can deliver. He is 3-1 with a 2.44 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP. Enough said.
TODAY’S PICK: SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS

Saturday MLB Pick

The Chicago Cubs have lost the first two of their 4-game series with the Pittsburgh Pirates but I expect they get back on the rails when they play an early one today at Wrigley. Chicago will have the best pitchers in the majors toeing the rubber, southpaw sensation Shōta Imanaga and he has been almost unhittable. Imanaga is 5-0 with an ERA of 0.96 and a 0.94 WHIP. Are you kidding me!!! The Pirates are expected to have Bailey Falter on the bump. He comes in at 2-2 with a 4.18 ERA, a good WHIP of 1.04, and a 0-3 in his career against Chicago with a 8.41 ERA. The Cubs just needs a few runs and they should get them against Falter. Imanaga will take care of the rest.
TODAY’S PICK: CHICAGO CUBS

Friday MLB Pick

The NL West leading Los Angeles Dodgers are on a rare 2-game losing streak but get back on track when they host the 18-25 Cincinnati Reds tonight in the second game of their 4-game set at Chávez Ravine. Lefty James Paxton is expected to get the start for the Dodgers and he has been delivering. The Big Maple is 5-0 with a 2.58 ERA and a 1.41 WHIP. Frankie Montas is expected to get the nod for the Reds. Montas is 2-3 with a 4.20 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP. The Dodgers, who average just under 9 hits per game, mustered just 4 hits in last night’s 7-2 loss to the Reds and Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and Shohei Ohtani were hitless so they are due for a big night.
TONIGHT’S PICK: LOS ANGELES DODGERS

Thursday NHL Pick

It looked as though the Carolina Hurricanes would soon be hitting the links, going down 3-0 to the New York Rangers in the second round of the playoffs, but not so fast. The Canes have clawed their way back and can even the series at three apiece tonight when they host the Rangers at PNC Arena. If you look at the first three games that the Rangers won, they weren’t a walk in the park. All three could have gone either way. Game one was a close 4-3 victory for New York and the next two were both OT wins. The bottom line is the Canes match up well with the Rangers, have momentum on their side, and PNC Arena will be packed with over 18,000 Carolina fans for support.
TONIGHT’S PICK: CAROLINA HURRICANES

Wednesday MLB Pick

With last night’s 4-0 shutout of the 19-22 New York Mets at Citi Field, the Philadelphia Phillies notched their 30th win which is the best in baseball and are 22-5 over their last 27. Tonight the series continues but the venue switches to the Phillies’ turf, Citizens Bank Park. The Phillies show no signs of slowing down and are expected to have their ace and the best pitcher in the majors on the bump, southpaw Ranger Suárez . He is a perfect 7-0 with an ERA of only 1.50 and a 0.72 WHIP, It doesn’t get much better than that. The Mets have yet to confirm a starter but it could be Adrian Houser, who is winless at 0-3 with a bloated ERA of 7.67. The Phillies have won 3 straight against the Mets and 8 of the last 10. They are also 8-0 in Suárez’s last 8 starts against a team with a losing record and 6-0 in his last 6 starts against the NL East. Philadelphia is the side to consider here.
TONIGHT’S PICK: PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES

Tuesday MLB Pick

The 26-14 Baltimore Orioles are on a rare 2-game losing streak and their prolific bats have gone silent but they bounce back tonight when the Orioles and the 19-22 Toronto Blue Jays play the middle game of their 3-game set at Camden Yards. Baltimore can score runs, that’s a given, averaging over 5 runs per game. Tonight they will be facing Toronto’s Chris Bassitt and he is not off to a good start. Bassitt is 3-5 with a 5.06 ERA, a 1.55 WHIP, and over his last 3 his ERA has jumped to 7.20. The Orioles are expected to give the nod to Kyle Bradish. He has yet to notch a win, at 0-0, but Bradish has good numbers with an ERA of 1.86 and a 1.24 WHIP. The O’s are 5-0 in their last 5 in game 2 of a series and have the edge in runs per game, run differential, batting average, hits, homers, and the list goes on.
TONIGHT’S PICK: BALTIMORE ORIOLES

Monday MLB Pick

The Pittsburgh Pirates will take their 4-game road losing streak into Milwaukee tonight to open a 3-game set with the Brewers. The NL-Central leading Brewers are 24-16 overall and 10-8 at American Family Field. Milwaukee is expected to have Colin Rea on the hill. Rea is a perfect 3-0 with a 3.29 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP. The Bucs reside in the third spot in the NL-Central, with a record of 18-23 and are 9-11 on the road. Pittsburgh’s expected starter is Mitch Keller. He is 3-3 with a 4.41 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP. The Brewers can score runs, averaging over 5 per game with a team batting average of .254. Milwaukee is 11-6 in division play and won the last meeting on April 25th with Pittsburgh, 7-5.
TONIGHT’S PICK: MILWAUKEE BREWERS
