Thursday MLB Pick

When Donny Baseball took over as skipper for the Philadelphia Phillies on April 28th, they were bottom feeders with a record of 9-19. Since then, they have done a complete 180o. Philadelphia is now 32-29 and sits in the second spot in the NL East. Today in a matinée at Citizens Bank Park, they will go for another sweep of the San Diego Padres. The Phillies swept the Friars just last week in a 3-game set in San Diego and should do it again today. Philadelphia is expected to have Zack Wheeler toeing the rubber and he has been throwing flames. Wheeler is 4-1 with an ERA of only 2.27 and has one of the lowest WHIPs in the Majors at 0.85. The Padres are expected to counter with Lucas Giolito. He is 2-0 but has an elevated ERA of 4.97 and a 1.74 WHIP. The Phillies are one of the hottest teams in baseball and have the Padres’ number.
